Textures (band)
Textures are a Dutch progressive metalcore band, formed in 2001. Textures' lineup revolved around founding members Jochem Jacobs, Stef Broks, Bart Hennephof, and bassist Remko Tielemans who joined in 2007. Since 2010, vocalist Daniël de Jongh and keyboardist Uri Dijk have been with the band. Textures first came to the spotlight with their debut album ''Polars'' with Listenable Records which won an Essent Award for "Most Promising Act" in 2004. Since then, the band released 2 more albums with Listenable Records, 2006's '' Drawing Circles'' and 2008's ''Silhouettes'' after signing to Nuclear Blast records. Jimmy Haslip
James Robert Haslip (born December 31, 1951) is an American bass guitarist who was a founding member of the jazz fusion group the Yellowjackets, which he left in 2012. He was also an early user of the five-string electric bass. Early life and career Born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican immigrants, Spanish was Haslip's first language and he learned to speak English in kindergarten. His father, James Joseph (Jaime) Haslip (1915–1999) served in the United States Customs Service, beginning as a Merchant Marine until moving to patrolman and eventually deputy commissioner, marrying Jimmy's mother Virginia (Viera) Haslip (1912–2009) in 1937. Haslip moved to Huntington, New York when he was four years old. At age seven, he began playing drums and then moved onto other instruments such as trumpet and tuba until playing bass at age 15. Within Temptation
Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded in April 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. They have been classified by critics as gothic metal and symphonic metal, although each album contains other influences outside these genres. Illdisposed is a Danish death metal band from Aarhus, that was formed in 1991 by vocalist Bo Summer and guitarist Lasse Bak. As of 2020, the band consists of vocalist Bo Summer, guitarists Jakob Batten and Rasmus Henriksen, bassist Kussen and drummer Rasmus Schmidt. Since the beginning of the 1990s, Illdisposed have been one of the top bands of the Nordic death metal scene and have released 15 albums and two EPs. Rise To Fall
Rise to Fall is a Spanish heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Bilbao. Their music is strongly influenced by the Swedish melodic death metal scene. The band was formed in 2006 and they started recording an album in 2008. They released their first studio album ''Restore The Balance'' in 2010 under the label Coroner Records. During the same year they performed in the festival Bilbao BBK Live 2010. Hadrien Feraud (born August 16, 1984) is a French jazz bassist. Biography Hadrien Feraud was born into a musical family. His parents, who are also musicians, immersed him at a very young age in various musical environments including rock 'n roll, blues, funk, R&B, new wave and jazz. Feraud began studying guitar at age 8, taking lessons from his father. He also had a deep interest in film scores. Gregor Mackintosh
Gregor Mackintosh (born 20 June 1970) is a British guitar player and singer. He is the lead guitarist in the metal band Paradise Lost, which he founded in 1988 together with singer Nick Holmes, rhythm guitarist Aaron Aedy, and bassist Steve Edmondson. He is the main composer of one of the pioneer bands and founding fathers of the gothic metal genre, considered to be influential to many other artists. Mackintosh also plays keyboards (on several Paradise Lost albums) and uses them to compose music. He founded the bands Vallenfyre, in which he is also the lead vocalist; Strigoi; and Host. Stream of Passion is a Dutch progressive metal band with symphonic and gothic influences founded by guitarist and composer Arjen Anthony Lucassen and Mexican singer, violinist, and lyricist Marcela Bovio.
