Alan Mayers (born 20 April 1937) is an English former association football, footballer who played as an outside forward. Born in Delamere, Cheshire, he made one appearance for Chester City F.C., Chester in The Football League, wearing the number seven shirt in a 2–1 defeat away to Scunthorpe United F.C., Scunthorpe United in April 1956. The previous season, he had played for the club in the Welsh Cup final against Barry Town F.C., Barry Town, helping Chester to a 1–1 draw at neutral Wrexham A.F.C., Wrexham, but he did not play in the replay as Chester lost to their non-league opponents. Natasha Mayers
Natasha Laren Mayers (born 10 March 1979 in Saint Vincent) is a professional track and field sprinter who competes internationally for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. She is the national record holder over 60 metres, 100 metres, and 200 metres. She represented her country at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004 and had the honour of being the national flag bearer at the latter edition. She has also appeared at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 2001 and 2003, as well as taking part in the IAAF World Indoor Championships. She won the 2002 NCAA women's 200 m title, running for the USC Trojans. Mayers' Industrial School (1904–c. 1930) was a private boarding and day school for African American students in Knoxville, Tennessee, U.S. The school was in part funded by the Presbyterian Board of Missions. It was also known as People's Industrial School, Mayers’ Industrial High School, and Myers' Industrial School. History The school was founded as the People's Industrial School in 1904, by the principal Flora E. Mayers (?–1930), and was owned the Presbyterian Board of Missions. Mayers had studied at a "colored school" in Maryville, and at Swift Memorial College in Rogersville. She was married to Rev. Richard Mayers. The early classes for Mayers' Industrial School were held at a building at 923 Vine Avenue at Lynch Street in East Knoxville, and school events were held at Market Hall. Vincent Mayers (19 March 1934 – 5 December 2013) was a Guyanese cricketer. He played six first-class matches for British Guiana between 1964 and 1969. Career Vincent Mayers was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler, known for his versatility as an all-rounder. He made his first-class debut for British Guiana in 1964 and played his last match in 1969. Sharne Mary Mayers (born 19 July 1992) is a Zimbabwean cricketer who plays for the Zimbabwe women's national cricket team. Naomi Mayers (born 1941) is a leader in Australian health. She is also known for having been lead vocalist of the music group The Sapphires, on which a popular 2012 film of the same name was based. Early life Mayers was born in 1941, of Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri heritage. She was one of three members of The Sapphires, along with Beverly Briggs (her sister) and Laurel Robinson, in the 1960s. She and Briggs chose not to travel with the group to Vietnam, owing to their opposition to the Vietnam War. Michael Christopher Mayers (born December 6, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, and Kansas City Royals. Amateur career Mayers attended Grove City High School in Grove City, Ohio where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He grew up a fan of the Cleveland Indians.
