Zemfira Talgatovna Ramazanova (, ; born 26 August 1976) is a Russian rock musician. She has been performing since 1998 and has been popular in Russia and other Post-Soviet states, former Soviet republics. To date Zemfira has sold over 3 million records. Biography and beginning of career An ethnic Volga Tatars, Volga Tatar, she was born in a typical middle-class family: her mother is a doctor, and her father is a history teacher. At the age of four, Zemfira interested in music and entered a music school the following year (where she studied piano performance and voice) and writing her first song when she was seven years old. History The starting point for the band's history was the moment in 1996, when Maria Makarova handed over her demo to Oleg Nesterov of the band Megapolis which was on tour in her native Krasnodar. 13 January 1997, when Makarova signed a contract with Nesterov to become her producer, is considered to be the official date of the band's formation. Later that year the line-up was completed. Voskreseniye () is a Russian rock band. History The band was formed in 1979, when drummer Sergey Kavagoe decided to leave Mashina Vremeni and form his own group. Kavagoe was joined by Mashina Vremeni's bassist, Evgeny Margulis. Alexey Romanov became the group's leader and songwriter, and Alexey Makarevich joined as guitarist. During this period the band released the successful albums ''Voskreseniye 1'' () and ''Voskreseniye 2'' (). In 1980, Margulis left the group, after being invited to join the group Araks, and Konstantin Nikolsky, Andrey Sapunov, and Mikhail Shevyakov joined the line-up. In August 1982, Romanov and the group's sound engineer, Alexander Arutyunov, were arrested and charged with private entrepreneurial activity.
