We Are Scientists is a New York City-based rock music, rock band that formed in Berkeley, California, in 1999. It consists primarily of guitarist and vocalist Keith Murray and bass guitarist Chris Cain, with drummer Keith Carne joining the band in the studio and for live performances since 2013. The band have released eight studio albums, not including their early release ''Safety, Fun, and Learning (In That Order)'', which the band have gone on to describe as more of a rough draft, than a proper album. The band's breakthrough success came with their debut studio album, ''With Love and Squalor,'' which sold Music recording sales certification, 100,000 copies in the first six months. ''Barbara'' is the third studio album by indie rock band We Are Scientists, released (digitally and physically) in the UK on June 14, 2010. The release was supported by singles "Rules Don't Stop," released on April 5, 2010, and " Nice Guys," released June 7, 2010. Following the band's split from EMI/ Virgin in November 2009, the record was released by PIAS Recordings in the United Kingdom. Background and recording In March 2008, We Are Scientists released its second studio album '' Brain Thrust Mastery'' through EMI Records. It was a moderate commercial success, and charted at number eleven on the UK Albums Chart. Some critics dismissed the album as inconsistent and a let down when compared to the band's 2005 debut '' With Love and Squalor''. Guided by Voices is an American indie rock band formed in 1983 in Dayton, Ohio. It has made frequent personnel changes but always maintained the presence of principal songwriter Robert Pollard. The most well-known lineup of the band consisted of Pollard (lead vocals), his brother Jim (guitar, bass), Mitch Mitchell (lead guitars), Tobin Sprout (vocals, rhythm guitars), Kevin Fennell (drums), and bassist Greg Demos. Cap'n Jazz (sometimes stylised as caP'n Jazz) is an American emo band from Buffalo Grove, Illinois. History Brothers Tim Kinsella and Mike Kinsella formed the band Toe Jam with Victor Villarreal, and Sam Zurick, in 1989, before eventually changing the band's name to Cap'n Jazz. Drawing influence from such bands as Gauge and Fugazi, Cap'n Jazz recorded several singles for independent labels in the early 90s as well as contributing to several compilations.
