Mauro Pawlowski
Evil Superstars was a Belgium, Belgian indie rock band led by Mauro Pawlowski. Among its members was Millionaire (band), Millionaire and Eagles of Death Metal guitarist Tim Vanhamel. History Evil Superstars was formed in 1992 in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. The original members were: * Mauro Pawlowski, vocals and guitar * Marc Requilé, samples and keyboards * Bart Vandebroek, bass guitar * Bart Vandeput, drums Johan Van Den Berghe soon replaced Bart Vandeput on drums. In March 1994 the band finished first in Humo's Rock Rally contest. Three months later Johan Van Den Berghe left, and was replaced by Dave Schroyen before recording their first EP, ''Hairfacts'' (1995). Tim Vanhamel, aged fifteen, joined the band. In 1996 this line-up recorded their first album ''Love Is Okay'', soon followed by a second EP ''Remix Apocalyps''. Thomas Andrew Barman (born 1 January 1972), is a Belgian musician, film director and photographer. Early life and education Barman is of Norwegian descent from his father's side. He started his studies at the Sint-Lukas film school in Brussels, but did not complete them, deciding instead to focus on a career in music. Musical career dEUS In 1989, Barman formed the rock band dEUS in Antwerp. In 2008, dEUS released the album '' Vantage Point''. Barman also contributed vocals to Axelle Red's album ''Sisters & Empathy'' in 2009. On September 16, 2011, dEUS released ''Keep You Close'', which was the successor to ''Vantage Point''. Humo's Rock Rally
Humo's Rock Rally is a Belgian contest for rock bands, organized every second year since 1978. It is organized by the Belgian magazine ''HUMO''. Every band that has not yet released an official recording, may enter the Rock Rally, by submitting a demo to ''HUMO''. ''HUMO'' then selects 100 bands to compete in the pre-selections, followed by semi-finals and a final with 10 bands. The competing bands are assessed by a professional jury. Money prizes are awarded to the top three bands, as well as to one band chosen by the audience. The Rock Rally is an important possibility for young Belgian rock bands to get in the picture.
