Matt Wilkinson (radio Presenter)
Matthew John Wilkinson (born 1981/1982) is a British radio presenter and television continuity announcer. Education Wilkinson comes from London. He studied at university in Newcastle upon Tyne. He holds an undergraduate degree in psychology. Career Early in his career, Wilkinson worked at Century Northeast in North East England (where in 2005 he was the presenter of the drivetime show) and 100.7 Heart FM in the West Midlands. On the 5th of February 2007, he began working at Trent FM in Nottingham. However, in December 2007, Wilkinson was hired to present a show on Heart 106.2 in London between 7pm and 10pm on weekdays, replacing Paul Hayes. In late 2009, this show was broadcast across the Heart network from Monday to Thursday, with Wilkinson presenting ''Club Classics'' on Fridays from 7pm to 10pm, although in November 2009, Simon Dale took over the show. Capital is a network of twelve independent contemporary hit radio stations in the United Kingdom, broadcasting a mix of local and networked programming. Ten of the stations are owned and operated by Global, while the other two are owned and operated under separate franchise agreements. As of September 2024, the stations serve a combined weekly audience of 7.5 million listeners and target a core audience in the 15–34 age group; 57% of all listeners are within this demographic. The national version of the network is widely available on Global Player, Freeview, Sky, Freesat, Virgin Media and Digital One DAB. Mind (charity)
Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales. It was founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health (NAMH). Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health. Since 1982, it has awarded an annual prize for "Book of the Year" having to do with mental health, in addition to three other prizes. Since 2008 Mind has hosted the annual Mind Media Awards, celebrating the best portrayals and reporting of mental health across the media. ''The EE Official Big Top 40 from Global'' is a radio chart show broadcast every Sunday from 4 to 7pm on Global's Capital and Heart networks, presented by Will Manning. The show started on 14 June 2009, with "When Love Takes Over" by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland becoming the show's first number 1. There have been 384 number one songs as of 15th June 2025 with the current being "Sapphire" by Ed Sheeran. Format ''The Official Big Top 40'' begins with a recap of the previous week's Top 10 songs, followed by a countdown of the 40 biggest songs from the last seven days. A recap is broadcast after every 10 songs, apart from the top 10 which is recapped after 9 songs.
