Lilia Michel (July 30, 1926 – August 10, 2011) was a Mexican television and film actress most active during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, earning her the nickname of "the jewel" of the film era. ''Dizziness'' () is a 1946 Mexican drama film directed by Antonio Momplet, starring María Félix, Emilio Tuero and Lilia Michel. It tells the story of a love triangle where a young widowed mother finds herself attracted to her daughter's fiancé. The film is based on the 1926 novel ''Alberte'' by Pierre Benoit. Plot Mercedes Mallea (María Félix) is a woman who married when she was almost a child, and became widowed while she was still young and attractive. Despite her youth, Mercedes decides to spend a lonely life on her ranch, while her daughter Gabriela (Lilia Michel) leaves to study abroad. Julio Bracho
Julio Bracho Gavilán (17 July 1909 – 26 April 1978) was a Mexican film director and screenwriter. Bracho was born as ninth of eleven children of Julio Bracho y Zuloaga and his wife Luz Pérez Gavilán. His sister Guadalupe Bracho Pérez-Gavilán became known as Andrea Palma (Actress), Andrea Palma, his brother Jesús Bracho, Jesús became known as theatrical designer and painter, and his brother Toribio became Jesuit and missionary in China. Two of his cousins were Dolores del Río and Ramón Novarro. The family moved to Mexico City in 1913. He was engaged in modern theater projects in Mexico, he was founding member of the ''Teatro Orientación group, Teatro Orientación'', and he founded and organized the ''Escolares del Teatro'' group, Mexico City, in 1931, as well as the ''Trabajadores del Teatro'' group in 1933, and the ''Teatro de la Universidad'' in 1936. Stella (or Estela) Inda (June 28, 1924 – December 7, 1995) was a Mexican film actress. She was the star of notable Mexican films, including '' Los olvidados'' by Luis Buñuel in 1949. Antonio Momplet (1899 – 10 August 1974) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He worked in Spain, France, Argentina (during the Golden Age of Argentine cinema) and Mexico. Life and career Antonio Momplet was born in Cádiz, Andalusia. He worked as a journalist and translator of foreign films in Barcelona until 1927, when he moved to Paris and began to work for Gaumont Film Company, Gaumont. In the mid-1930s he moved back to Spain where he directed four feature films and founded the film journal ''Cine Art'', which quickly became influential. To avoid the Spanish Civil War, he moved to Argentina in 1937, and made eight feature films the following years. In 1943 he moved to Mexico to join the film industry there, and made a number of Mexican films both as director and writer for others, before he moved back to Buenos Aires in 1946. ''Amok'' is a 1944 Mexican romantic drama film directed by Antonio Momplet and starring María Félix and Julián Soler. The film is based on the Stefan Zweig novel '' Der Amokläufer''. Plot A doctor (Julián Soler) embezzles the proceeds of his Parisian clinic in order to better support the manipulative woman (María Félix) with whom he is having an affair. After losing all the money while gambling, he is forced to flee to an undeveloped region of India.
