Martin Atkins (born 4 April 1975) is an English darts player who competes for the Professional Darts Corporation. He is sometimes referred to as Martin Atkins (Wigan) to avoid confusion with another player named Martin Atkins (darts player, born 1965), Martin Atkins, who comes from Leeds. Career After missing out on winning a PDC Tour Card in 2018, Atkins played the PDC Challenge Tour, and on the second day of competition, he won PDC Challenge Tour 3 by defeating Michael Barnard (darts player), Michael Barnard 5–4 in the final. Atkins qualified for the 2018 UK Open as an amateur Riley's qualifier, losing to fellow amateur Paul Whitworth (darts player), Paul Whitworth 3–6. He won a tour card at the 2020 Q-School, enabling him to compete on the 2020 PDC Pro Tour. Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas, Lancashire, River Douglas. 2020 PDC Pro Tour
The 2020 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. There were 27 PDC Pro Tour events held, 23 Players Championships and 4 European Tour events. This page also includes results from the PDC's affiliated tours including the Development and Challenge Tours and all the regional tours as well as the results from the World Championship regional qualifiers. Michael Barnard (born 8 October 1976 from Sidcup, Greater London) is an English professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation events. Career A winner of the World Youth Masters in 1991, Barnard joined the PDC circuit in late 2003 taking part in UK Open regionals, reaching the semi finals of the Scottish Regional and the quarter finals of the North West Regional. His performances helped him progress to the third round of the 2004 UK Open automatically where he narrowly lost 8–7 to Andy Jenkins. He then reached a semi final in the Midlands Regional for the 2005 UK Open as he entered the third round automatically once more, losing to Roland Scholten. Career Atkins has been a Yorkshire county player since 1996 and has represented the England national side in many occasions including 3 times in the Six Nations, winning all three, and once in the World Cup in 2011, contributing to England's best performance since 1995. The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC).
