Marthad'ilan Yanuf
Marthad'ilan Yanuf (Arabic: مرثد ألن ينوف), also romanized as Murthid 'Alan Yanuf, was a Himyarite king who reigned in the early 6th century CE. A devout Christian, Marthad'ilan Yanuf engaged in diplomatic relations with the Aksumite Empire as well as renovated churches in his territory. He is the first Christian ruler to have official rule over Himyar. Name The name Marthad'ilan Yanuf appears in a few inscriptions dating to the early 6th century CE. In the books of Arab histories, his full name is given as Marthad ibn 'Abd-Kulal al-Himyari, which confirms that he is the son of the regent 'Abd-Kulal who is also a Christian, albeit a follower of Nontrinitarianism. He has a similar name to his predecessor, Marthad'ilan Yu'nim, although he is certainly not from the dynasty of Sharhabil Yakkuf. Marthad'ilan Yu'nim (Arabic: مرثد ألن ينعم) also known as Marthad al-Khayr, was a Himyarite king who primarily reigned in the late 5th century CE. He is known for his involvement in the Basus War. Name As attested in inscriptions, his name is Marthad'ilan Yu'nim; his full name being ''Marthad ibn Lakhni'ah Yanuf al-Himyari''. In the books of Arab heritage, his name is ''Marthad al-Khayr ibn Dhi Jadan''. The word ''Yun'im'' is Himyaritic for "blessed" which is ''al-Khayr'' in Arabic. Sharhabil Yakkuf
Sharhabil Yakkuf (Arabic: شرحبيل يكف) also known as Šaraḥbiʾil Yakûf ( Ge'ez: Sarābhēl Dänkəf) was a king of Himyar who reigned in the 5th century CE. He succeeded the similarly-named Sharhabil Yafur. He is also the founder of a new ruling dynasty, one that is not descended from Dhamar Ali Yahbur II. Sharhabil Yakkuf is also known in Arabian folklore as Tubba' bin Hassan or Sharhabil Yankuf ibn Nawf Yushashqir.
