Marques'Almeida
Marques'Almeida is a fashion label which debuted in London in 2011. The label was founded by Portuguese designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, who both studied at Central Saint Martins in London. The brand is known for the creative use of denim, Style.com credited the label with helping launch the revival of distressed denim in the 2010s. However, the brand's focus is actually on high-end women's wear, and despite being renowned for their innovative denim garments, they didn't include jeans in their collection until 2015. In 2015, the label won the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize, the largest cash prize for a new brand in fashion. LVMH Prize
The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, commonly known as the LVMH Prize, is an award for fashion designers administered yearly by fashion conglomerate LVMH. Founded by Delphine Arnault in 2014, the prize celebrates designers between the ages of 18 and 40 who have created at least two fashion collections. As of 2025, the ceremony awards four yearly awards: The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, The Karl Lagerfeld Prize, the Savoir-Faire Prize, and the Graduates Award. Denim
Denim is a sturdy cotton warp-faced textile in which the weft passes under two or more Warp (weaving), warp threads. This twill weave produces a diagonal ribbing that distinguishes it from cotton duck. Denim, as it is recognized today, was first produced in Nîmes, France. Denim is available in a range of colors, but the most common denim is Indigo dye, indigo denim in which the Warp (weaving), warp thread is dyed while the weft thread is left white. As a result of the warp-faced twill weaving, one side of the textile is dominated by the blue warp threads, and the other side is dominated by the white weft threads. Jeans
Jeans are a type of trousers made from denim or dungaree cloth. Often the term "jeans" refers to a particular style of trousers, called "blue jeans", with the addition of copper pocket rivets added by Jacob W.
