Marion (band)
Marion are an English Britpop band, formed in 1993 in Macclesfield, Cheshire. The band's classic lineup featured frontman Jaime Harding (born Jamie Brian Harding, 27th February 1975), guitarist Phil Cunningham (rock musician), Phil Cunningham, guitarist Tony Grantham (born Anthony Paul Grantham), bassist Julian Phillips and drummer Murad Mousa. The band released two studio albums before splitting up in 1999, due to Harding's heroin addiction which saw him not rehearsing with the band that year. Although originally lumped in with the "Madchester" scene they were later seen more as a northern version of Suede (band), Suede and the band felt that this latter label held them back. In 2006, Harding and Cunningham recruited a new set of musicians and reformed the band. They started working on new material, having played their first live gig together as Marion in seven years on 1 April 2006 in Bath, Somerset, Bath. Marion, Shelby County, Indiana
Marion is an unincorporated community in Marion Township, Shelby County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. History James Wilson was the first settler in the future Shelby County, raising a cabin there in 1819. In 1820 the New Purchase areas were formally surrendered to the government, and the land was made available for purchase. In 1820 Wilson and a few other settlers traveled to the Government Land Office at Brookville to make good their existing settlement claims. Returning from Brookville, Wilson brought a surveyor. In partnership with John Sleeth, a townsite with streets, alleys and a public square was laid out and platted. This was the first such effort in the future county, which was authorized by the state legislature on 31 December 1821. Marion is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Flathead County, Montana, United States. Its population was 1,119 as of the 2020 census. Marion has a post office with ZIP code 59925. The Great Northern Railway created Marion in 1891 as the terminus of a short spur line that ran west from Kalispell. Between 1892 and 1902, this would be part of the Great Northern Main Line between Columbia Falls and Libby through Haskell Pass. The post office in Marion was established in 1892. Located just off of U.S. Route 2, Marion is 21 miles from Kalispell. The town is next to Little Bitterroot Lake. The railroad between Kalispell and Marion was abandoned in the 1940s. Marion is a town in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, United States. It is a northeastern suburb of Meridian, the county seat. The population of Marion was 1,479 at the 2010 census. History The town was named for Francis Marion, a military leader known as the "Swamp Fox". Marion was Lauderdale County's seat from its founding to Reconstruction. Prior to the war, Marion was a prosperous town inhabited by numerous planters and enslaved African Americans. In 1840, it had a drugstore, two blacksmith shops, six dry goods stores, and two academies (one for girls and another for boys). It also had at least one newspaper, the ''Lauderdale Republican''.
