Marikina's 2nd Congressional District
Marikina's 2nd congressional district is one of the two congressional districts of the Philippines in the city of Marikina. The district covers the seven northern Marikina barangays of Concepcion Uno, Concepcion Dos, Fortune, Marikina Heights, Parang, Nangka, and Tumana. The district has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 2007. An amendment to the 1996 Marikina City Charter, passed in 2006, created the district from Marikina's at-large congressional district. Stella Quimbo of Lakas–CMD has represented the district since 2019. Miro Quimbo, who served as the representative for the district from 2010 to 2019, is the representative-elect for the 20th Congress of the Philippines, 20th Congress. Lakas–CMD (1991)
Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Its ideology and that of its successor is heavily influenced by Christian and Islamic democracy. The party's influence on Philippine society is very strong, especially after the People Power Revolution, which has led the country to elect two presidents from the party, namely Fidel V. The 2022 Philippine House of Representatives elections were the 36th lower house elections in the Philippines. The election of the House of Representatives was held on May 9, 2022. The election is held concurrently with the 2022 presidential, Senate and local elections.
