Marauders (comics)
The Marauders is a team of fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The original Marauders team included mutant (Marvel Comics), mutant warriors and assassins employed by the X-Men's enemy Mister Sinister, a mad scientist villain often intent on creating a perfect race of superhumans. The Marauders have been tasked by Mister Sinister to perform kidnappings, assassinations, mass murder, or simply fight Mister Sinister's enemies. Marauders have been killed in combat, but often Mister Sinister uses his cloning technology to re-create them. This team of Marauders has appeared in many different stories of the X-Men franchise, as well as stories featuring other Marvel Comics heroes. In 2019, the Dawn of X event involved the X-Men and many allies and enemies creating a new all-mutant country on the living island Krakoa. Uncanny X-Men
''Uncanny X-Men'', originally published as ''The X-Men'', is an American comic book series published by Marvel Comics since 1963, and is the longest-running series in the List of X-Men comics, X-Men comics franchise. It features a team of superheroes called the X-Men, a group of Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutants with superhuman abilities led and taught by Professor X. The title was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, met with a lukewarm reception, and eventually became a reprints-only book in 1970. Interest was rekindled with 1975's ''Giant-Size X-Men'' #1 and the debut of a new, international team. Gambit (Marvel Comics)
Gambit is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually those featuring the X-Men, a group of which Gambit is typically depicted as a member. The character was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Jim Lee. Drawn by artist Mike Collins, Gambit made his first appearances in '' The Uncanny X-Men Annual'' #14 (July 1990) and '' The Uncanny X-Men'' #266 (August 1990). Belonging to a subspecies of humans called mutants, Gambit can mentally create, control, and manipulate pure kinetic energy. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a bō. Gambit is known to charge playing cards and other objects with kinetic energy, using them as explosive projectiles. He was part of the Thieves Guild before becoming a member of the X-Men.
