Mapúa Cardinals, Lady Cardinals And Red Robins
The Mapúa Cardinals and Lady Cardinals are the varsity sports teams of Mapúa University that play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). The Mapúa Cardinals holds the NCAA record for the most general championships in the seniors' division with a total of 20—the last of these championships was won in 1993. At a distant second is Colegio de San Juan de Letran, which has eight seniors' titles. Out of the total seniors' general championships won by the Cardinals, ten were from the 1980s to the mid-1990s, in addition to three (out of a total eight) in the juniors' division over the same period. Name The "Cardinal" in the team's name was adopted from the American baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals, of which Don Tomas Mapúa, the founder of the Mapúa Institute of Technology, was a fan. Carlos Badion
Carlos Velasco Badion (August 16, 1935 – June 20, 2002) was a Filipino basketball player. Although born in Lubao, Pampanga, he grew up in Tondo, Manila where he started his checkered career playing in sandlot tournaments and for Abad Santos High School in Manila. At 5'11" tall, he was first spotted in an interscholastic tournament by Valerio Lopez of Mapua where he subsequently enrolled. He eventually shone in the NCAA and the MICAA, playing for such teams as the Jacinto Rubber Shoes, Crispa (where he became one of the pioneering members of that team) and YCO. Joseph Eriobu
Joseph Emmanuel Arinze Eriobu Jr. (born February 12, 1992) is a Filipino-Nigerian professional basketball player for the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Professional career Eriobu was a long-time player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 4th overall by the Mahindra Floodbuster in the 2016 PBA draft. He would later play for the Phoenix Fuel Masters and Blackwater Elite before being left unsigned to any PBA team in 2019. He would play for Hong Kong Eastern in the ASEAN Basketball League. Geraldo "Bong" Ramos (born January 20, 1961) is a Filipino professional basketball coach. The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots, or simply known as the Magnolia Hotshots, are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. Barako Bull Energy Boosters
The Barako Bull Energy Boosters were a professional basketball team of the Philippine Basketball Association owned by the Photokina Marketing Corporation. They entered the league in 2000, after a successful stint in the semi-professional Philippine Basketball League during the late 1990s. Under the name Agfa Color, the team won a championship in 1996. The 50 Greatest Players in PBA History is a list of players chosen across three separate occasions in 2000, 2015, and 2025 to honor the 25th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), respectively, with the list expanding for each milestone. The Crispa Redmanizers were a multi-titled Filipino basketball team that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975 to 1984. It was one of the nine founding teams of the PBA, winning a total of thirteen PBA championships, including two grand slams.
