Manu (Hinduism)
Manu () is a term found with various meanings in Hinduism. In early texts, it refers to the archetypal man, or the first man ( progenitor of humanity). The Sanskrit term for 'human', मनुष्य (IAST: manuṣya) or मानव (IAST: mānava) means 'of Manu' or 'children of Manu'. In later texts, Manu is the title or name of fourteen rulers of earth, or alternatively as the head of dynasties that begin with each cyclic '' kalpa'' (aeon) when the universe is born anew. The title of the text ''Manusmriti'' uses this term as a prefix, but refers to the first Manu – Svayambhuva, the spiritual son of Brahma. In the Hindu cosmology, each ''kalpa'' consists of fourteen Manvantaras, and each Manvantara is headed by a different Manu. Manvantara
A ''manvantara'', in Hindu cosmology, is a cyclic period of time identifying the duration, reign, or age of a Manu, the progenitor of mankind. In each ''manvantara'', seven Rishis, certain deities, an Indra, a Manu, and kings (sons of Manu) are created and perish. Anasuya
Anasuya () is an ascetic, and the wife of Sage Atri in Hinduism. She is the daughter of Devahuti and the Prajapati Kardama in Hindu texts. In the ''Ramayana'', she lives with her husband in a small hermitage on the southern border of the Chitrakuta forest. A pious woman who leads an austere life, she is described as having miraculous powers. Anasuya is the sister of the sage Kapila, who also served as her teacher. She is extolled as ''Sati Anasuya'' (Ascetic Anasuya) and ''Mata Anasuya'' (Mother Anasuya), the chaste wife of Sage Atri. She becomes the mother of Dattatreya, the sage-avatar of Vishnu, Chandra, a form of Brahma, and Durvasa, the irascible sage avatar of Shiva. Kapila

Shatarupa
Shatarupa () is the daughter of the creator deity, Brahma. According to '' Brahma Purana'', Shatarupa is regarded as the first woman to be created by Brahma, marrying Manu, the first man. Their descendants are called ''manushya'', the Sanskrit term for mankind. Four Kumaras
The Kumaras are four sages (''rishis'') from the Puranic texts of Hinduism who roam the universe as children, generally named Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana, and Sanatkumara. They are described as the first mind-born creations and sons of the creator-god Brahma. Born from Brahma's mind, the four Kumaras undertook lifelong vows of celibacy ( brahmacharya) against the wishes of their father. Savarni Manu
Savarni Manu () is the eighth Manu, the first man of an age known as the Manvantara in Hindu mythology. Literature The Vishnu Purana specifies fourteen Manus. The Manu of the present age is called Vaivasvata Manu, the seventh man to hold the title. He is to be succeeded by his half-brother Sarvabhauma, who would be called the Savarani Manu. Chakshusha
Chakshusha Manu () is the sixth Manu, the first man of an age known as the Manvantara in Hindu mythology. Literature In the Markandeya Purana, Ananda, the son of sage Anamitra, is stated to be the previous incarnation of Chakshusha Manu. As a child, he was carried by a cat to the cradle of a prince, whose father was King Vikranta. Unbeknownst to the king, he was raised as his own son. During the child's sacred thread ceremony, when the king asked Ananda to prostrate before his mother, the child declared his true identity, leaving to perform a penance in the forest. Skanda Purana
The ''Skanda Purana'' ( IAST: Skanda Purāṇa) is the largest '' Mukhyapurāṇa'', a genre of eighteen Hindu religious texts. The text contains over 81,000 verses, and is of Shaivite literature, titled after Skanda, a son of Shiva and Parvati (who is also known as Murugan in Tamil literature).
