''Miss Bonaparte'' (French: ''Mam'zelle Bonaparte'') is a 1942 Cinema of France, French historical film, historical drama film directed by Maurice Tourneur and starring Edwige Feuillère, Monique Joyce and Raymond Rouleau. It is based on a novel by Gérard Bourgeois and Pierre Chanlain, set during the reign of Napoleon III. The film was made during the German military administration in occupied France during World War II, German occupation of France.Waldman p.162 The film's sets were designed by the art director Guy de Gastyne. Maurice Tourneur
Maurice Félix Thomas (; 2 February 1876 – 4 August 1961), known as Maurice Tourneur (), was a French film director and screenwriter. Life Born Maurice Félix Thomas in the Épinettes district (17th arrondissement of Paris), his father was a wholesaler. As a young man, Maurice Thomas first trained as a graphic designer and a magazine illustrator but was soon drawn to the theater. In 1904, he married the actress Fernande Petit. They had a son, Jacques Tourneur, Jacques (1904–1977), who would follow his father into the film industry, establishing his own reputation as a director of American films in the 1940s and 1950s. Using the stage name Maurice Tourneur, he began his show business career performing in secondary roles on stage and eventually toured England and South America as part of the theater company for the great star Gabrielle Réjane. Jacques Maury
Jacques Maury (10 November 1920 – 12 April 2020) was a French pastor. Biography Jacques was the son of Pierre Maury, a dogmatic professor at the Protestant Faculty of Theology in Paris. Pierre Maury introduced the ideas of Karl Barth in France. Maury's grandfather was Léon Maury, a professor at the Protestant Faculty of Theology in Montauban. Maury attended the Faculté de théologie protestante in Montpellier. During World War II, he worked for Cimade at the Camp de Rivesaltes and as an assistant military chaplain in the 2nd Armored Division. Maury became pastor of the Reformed Church in Lezay after the war. He was President of the French Federation of Christian Student Associations from 1957 to 1962, and then pastor at the Reformed Church in Poitiers.
