Malaysia Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Malaysian national ice hockey team () is the national men's ice hockey team of Malaysia. The team is controlled by the Malaysia Ice Hockey Federation and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 28 September 2006. Ice hockey was part of the Ice hockey at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games, 2017 SEA Games held in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia's IIHF World Championship debut was delayed from 2020 to 2022 due to COVID-related cancellations in 2020 and 2021. Malaysian Invitational 3-on-3 Hockey Tournament In the 2009 edition of this tournament, the Malaysian team defeating Hong Kong men's national ice hockey team, Hong Kong in a game by a score of 8–7 in front of a crowd at Sunway Pyramid. In 2010, the Malaysian team was undefeated on their way to the final against Kuwait national ice hockey team, Kuwait. 2024 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships
The 2024 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships were the 87th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participate at several levels of competition based on their 2023 results. The competition served as qualifications for division placements in the 2025 edition. Since 2023, teams from Russia and Belarus have not been allowed to enter, as they remain suspended by the IIHF due to the countries' invasion of Ukraine. The 2023 IIHF World Championship Division III were two international ice hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Group A tournament was held in Cape Town, South Africa from 17 to 23 April and the Group B tournament in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 27 February to 5 March 2023. Chinese Taipei were promoted after winning Group A, with North Korea relegated after withdrawing before the tournament. 2022 IIHF World Championship Division IV
The 2022 IIHF World Championship Division IV was an international ice hockey tournament organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 3 to 8 March 2022. This was the first edition of the Division IV tournament, which had been cancelled the previous two years. Kyrgyzstan won the tournament, earning promotion to Division III Group B for 2023. Iran, Singapore and Malaysia were also promoted with Kuwait continuing to participate in Division IV. 2021 IIHF World Championship
The 2021 IIHF World Championship () took place from 21 May to 6 June 2021. It was originally to be co-hosted by Minsk, Belarus and Riga, Latvia, as the IIHF announced on 19 May 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Their joint bid won by a very tight margin against the Finnish bid with the cities of Tampere and Helsinki. On 18 January 2021 the IIHF decided to remove Belarus as a co-host due to 2020–2021 Belarusian protests, the rising political unrest and COVID-19 concerns there. On 2 February, the IIHF voted to confirm Latvia as the sole host for the 2021 IIHF World Championship. This tournament was notable for the number of upsets that occurred in the preliminary round, including Denmark and Belarus' victories over Sweden, Kazakhstan's victory over Finland, Slovakia's victory over Russia, and Latvia's victory over Canada. Bishkek
Bishkek, formerly known as Pishpek (until 1926), and then Frunze (1926–1991), is the Capital city, capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan. 2020 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships
The 2020 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships would have been the 84th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams would have participated in several levels of competition, including the inaugural competition in the newly created Division IV. The competition would also have served as qualifications for division placements in the 2021 competition. Restructuring by the IIHF led to several changes in the lower divisions of the 2020 World Championships. Division III was renamed Division III-A, the Division III qualification tournament was renamed Division III-B, and Division IV was created, with the latter two tournaments consisting of four teams each instead of the standard six. Kuwait National Ice Hockey Team
The Kuwait national ice hockey team () is the national men's ice hockey team of Kuwait. The team is controlled by the Kuwait Ice Hockey Association and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 8 May 2009. As of 28 May 2023, Kuwait is currently ranked 50th in the IIHF World Ranking. Kuwait participated in the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia, from 2010 to 2018. Sunway Pyramid is a shopping mall located in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Selangor which was developed by the Sunway Group. History Sunway Pyramid was designed by the design director of Sunway, Nelson Yong. After several architects were unable to meet expectations for the building's façade, Yong assumed responsibility for the interior design and architectural concept.
