Mactracker
Mactracker is a freeware application containing a complete database of all Apple hardware models and operating system versions, created and actively developed by Ian Page. The database includes, but is not limited to, the Lisa (under its later name, Macintosh XL), Classic Macintosh (1984–1996), printers, scanners, QuickTake digital cameras, iSight, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPort, along with all versions of the Classic Mac OS, macOS, and iOS. For each model of desktop and portable computer, audio clips of the corresponding startup chime or chime of death are also included. Sources for the history and text used in Mactracker are credited to Lukas Foljanty, Glen. D Sanford, and English Wikipedia. WidgetWidget and The Iconfactory provided many icons of the hardware. VersionTracker was a website that tracked software releases and versioning. It began as a Mac OS software tracker, eventually expanding into Mac OS X, iPhone, Microsoft Windows and Palm OS software. VersionTracker did not host the majority of the software listed - it merely linked to them. Browsing and searching the database was free. Paid users had access to a streamlined download process and the VersionTracker Pro software application. VersionTracker Pro tracked software versions on the user's computer and compared those versions to VersionTracker's database. The iPod click wheel is the navigation component of non touch-screen iPod models. It uses a combination of touch technology and traditional buttons, involving the technology of capacitive sensing, which senses the touch of the user's fingers. The wheel allows a user to find music, videos, photos and play games on the device. The wheel is flush on the face of the iPod and is located below the screen. The Iconfactory is a software and graphic design company that designs commercial icons and user interfaces and publishes desktop applications and mobile apps for macOS and iOS. History The Iconfactory was founded in April 1996 by three artists: Corey Marion, Talos Tsui, and Gedeon Maheux.
