Rey Mark G. "Mac" Belo (born February 12, 1993) is a Filipino professional basketball player who plays for the Zamboanga Valientes of The Asian Tournament (TAT). Early life Hailing from Midsayap, Cotabato, Belo was born on February 12, 1993. His father is from Panay, Capiz and migrated to Cotabato. He attended St. Mary's Academy of Midsayap and Notre Dame of Midsayap College for his high school education. Belo's brother was in the military. He taught Mac how to play basketball and the discipline needed to become a basketball athlete. They often played without shoes. He joined the varsity team of Saint Mary’s Academy of Midsayap only during his senior year. When he was 19 years old, Belo played in the CHED National Games, and caught the eye of some scouts, including Bert Flores, who was the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws back then. The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. Bert Flores
Bert Flores (born October 27, 1968) is a Filipino coach who serves as an assistant coach of the FEU Tamaraws. Career Flores served as manager of the FEU Tamaraws' basketball team until 2005, when he was appointed as head coach. He steered the Tamaraws to win the championship that year with a Finals revenge against La Salle. After a dismal performance, he focused on being the manager, consultant and assistant coach until 2010, when he was reappointed again and steered the Tamaraws to a finals appearance, and served until 2013. After his men's basketball team stint, Flores served as athletic coordinator, overseeing the women's volleyball while coaching the women's basketball team. He coached the women's team until 2024. Zamboanga Valientes
The Zamboanga Valientes, also known as the Zamboanga Peninsula Valientes MLV, are a Filipino professional basketball team based in the Zamboanga Peninsula. The team has competed in numerous leagues since its founding in 2006. The team first competed as the Zamboanga Latinos when it was part of both the Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA) and National Basketball Conference (NBC). 2016 SEABA Cup
The 2016 SEABA Cup was the qualifying event in the SEABA for the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge. The fifth edition of the games took place from 22 May to 28 May 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. Automatically, only one spot was allotted for SEABA but due to the Philippines' runner-up finish in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship, the subzone was awarded another slot, thus SEABA had two spots which was contested by five SEABA teams. The won their second tournament title by defeating the hosts in the championship match, 97–80. However, both teams were already qualified to the main tournament as of 25 May due to their top two finish in the elimination round.
