Argostoli Public Library
Argostoli Public Library, also known as Korgialenios Library, is a Greek public library in Argostoli, Kefalonia. The library shares the same building as the Korgialenio History and Folklore Museum. History The Korgialenios Library of Argostoli was founded in 1924 as bequeathed by the will of Marinos Korgialenios, whose name the library bears. The library is supervised by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs in the direction of offering visitors information services and access to its resources as well as encouraging research and cultural development in the local society. In conjunction with the Korgialenios Folklore Museum and the co-located archive collections of the prefecture of Kefalonia, it has been said that they comprise a "significant focal point of scientific and intellectual activity on a global scale". The Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism (ARAS) is an encyclopedic collection of archetypal images consisting of photographs of works of art, ritual images, and artifacts of sacred traditions and contemporary art from around the world. The archive is hosted by National ARAS, with institutional members in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco. Overview The ARAS archive contains about 17,000 photographic images collected over more than sixty years, each accompanied by scholarly commentary. The commentary includes a description of the image with a cultural history that places it in context historically and geographically, an important aspect for understanding and working with archetypal images. Ann Arbor District Library
The Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) is a public library system that serves the residents of the Ann Arbor, Michigan school district. The Downtown Library, located at 343 South Fifth Avenue, was dedicated in 1957 and had building additions in 1974 and 1991. AADL also includes four branch libraries: Malletts Creek, Traverwood, Pittsfield, and Westgate. The library system holds over 490,000 materials – books, DVDs, compact discs, magazines, audio books and other formats. More than 1.5 million people came through the doors of the AADL system in 2011–12, and circulation of library materials topped 8.5 million.
