Kangikitsua
Anorituup Kangerlua, also known as Anoritoq or Anortek Fjord, is a fjord in King Frederick VI Coast, southern Greenland. Geography This fjord marks the border between the Sermersooq municipality to the north and the Kujalleq municipality to the south in the eastern coast of Greenland. Anorituup Kangerlua extends in a roughly E/W direction for about 50 km between Napasorsuaq Fjord to the north and Avaqqat Kangerluat Fjord to the south. Kangikitsua is a tributary fjord branching on the southern shore within the fjord. To the east Anorituup Kangerlua opens into the North Atlantic Ocean. The Qulleq group of coastal islands lies to the northeast of the northern end of its mouth. The Akia Peninsula is at the southern end of its mouth and the Anorituup Qeqertag islet cluster at its northern end. Carlsberg Fjord
Carlsberg Fjord ( kl, Kangerterajitta Itterterilaq) is a fjord in King Christian X Land, eastern Greenland. Administratively it lies in the Sermersooq Municipality. History This fjord was first noted by British explorer William Scoresby (1789 – 1857), who assumed that it connected with Hurry Inlet to the south. It was first properly surveyed and mapped by Danish Arctic explorer Georg Carl Amdrup during the Carlsberg Foundation Expedition to East Greenland ''(Carlsbergfondet Expedition til Ost-Gronland)'' in 1898–1900. Amdrup named the fjord after the Carlsberg Foundation. Bowdoin Fjord
Bowdoin Fjord is a fjord in northern Greenland. To the south the fjord opens into the Inglefield Gulf of the Baffin Bay. Bessel Fjord, NW Greenland
Bessel Fjord ( da, Bessels Fjord) is a fjord in northwestern Greenland. Administratively it belongs to the Avannaata municipality. Knud Rasmussen described the fjord entrance in the following terms: Geography Bessel Fjord stretches roughly from north to south for about 60 km. It is a long and narrow fjord lined with high mountains rising steeply from the shore. Bessel Fjord
Bessel Fjord is a fjord in northeastern Greenland. Administratively it belongs to the NE Greenland National Park area. History The area around the mouth of this fjord was referred to as "Bessel Bay" at the time of the 1869–70 Second German North Polar Expedition led by Carl Koldewey. It was named after German astronomer and director of the Königsberg university observatory Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel (1784–1846). Later, the 1906–08 Denmark expedition applied the name to the fjord itself. Bernstorff Fjord
Bernstorff Fjord ( da, Bernstorff Isfjord; kl, Kangertittivaq) is a fjord in King Frederick VI Coast, eastern Greenland. Administratively it is part of the Sermersooq municipality. The fjord was named after Danish statesman Andreas Peter Bernstorff. This fjord is almost always blocked by heavy ice. History One of the coastal islands, Igdluluarssuk (Sattiaatteq) at the entrance of the fjord on its southern side, had had the northernmost Inuit settlement of the southern group on the east coast in the recent past. Avaqqat Kangerluat, also known as ''Avarqqat Kangerluat'', ''Avaqqat Kangerlua'' and ''Puiagtoq Fjord'', is a fjord in the King Frederick VI Coast, Kujalleq municipality, southern Greenland. History This fjord was referred to as "Auarket" by Lieutenant Wilhelm August Graah in 1829 during his East Coast expedition. He camped at Taateraat Nuuat ("Taterat"), a place by the entrance of the fjord to the south. He found that a family of Southeast-Greenland Inuit was living in the area o the fjord. Graah described these Inuit as good-looking. Graah was told about a strange object of iron in the area and he found that it was an old, rusty cannon. Graah cleaned it and fired it for the amusement of the Greenlanders. Arfersiorfik Fjord
Arfersiorfik Fjord is a large fjord along the western coast of Greenland, between the town of Aasiaat to the north and Nordre Strømfjord to the south. The name of this inlet means "the place where the whale was sighted". Geography The entrance to the fjord is on the Davis Strait, and it extends eastward for a distance of to the inland ice sheet. The islands of Qorsunnitsoq and Tunertooq are on the northern side midway within the fjord. Located along the northern shore of the fjord, near the entrance, is the settlement of Niaqornaarsuk.
