''48 Shades'' (titled ''Australian Pie: Naked Love'' in the United States) is a 2006 Australian comedy film by debut director Daniel Lapaine, starring Richard Wilson, Emma Lung, Robin McLeavy, and Victoria Thaine. It is based on Nick Earls' popular 1999 novel '' 48 Shades of Brown''. It was filmed in Brisbane, Australia. School scenes from the film were filmed in the real-life Brisbane Boys' College. ''The Railway Man'' is a 2013 war film directed by Jonathan Teplitzky. It is an adaptation of the 1995 autobiography of the same name by Eric Lomax, and stars Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Jeremy Irvine, and Stellan Skarsgård. It premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival on 6 September 2013. Plot During the Second World War, Eric Lomax is a British officer who is captured by the Japanese in Singapore and sent to a Japanese POW camp, where he is forced to work on the Thai-Burma Railway north of the Malay Peninsula. During his time in the camp as one of the Far East prisoners of war, Lomax is tortured by the ''Kempeitai'' (military secret police) for building a radio receiver from spare parts. The torture depicted includes beatings, food deprivation and waterboarding. Elizabeth Maree Tomkins (born 1 December 1982) is an Australian film producer. She studied at Queensland College of Art, graduating in 2005, and later began work at Briz 31 Community Television, where among other roles she produced the station's flagship show ''Cinema''. She subsequently left community television to pursue work on various films and TV series shot in Canada, South-East Queensland, and Far-North Queensland by companies including HBO, FOX, Dimeworth Films, and Limelight International. By 2009 she changed course to pursue independent producing and began as Production Manager and publicist of a low-budget thriller ''Sleeper''. The ''NewsMail'' is an online newspaper based in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. It has a wide range of content including domestic and international affairs. The paper has a long, notable history, starting as a family business and more recently becoming part of the regional network of News Corp Australia, the largest Australian newspaper publisher. It shut down its printed edition and became online-only in June 2020. History Thomas White, the founder of NewsMail, first named the newspaper the ''Burnett Argus'' in 1861. In 1869, White moved publishing to Maryborough and changed the name to ''The Maryborough Mail''. In 1872, the publisher moved and renamed the newspaper again to the Mount Perry Mail. Later on, The Mount Perry Mail moved to Bundaberg and became ''The Bundaberg Mail''.
