The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The OCC produces its charts by gathering and combining sales data from retailers through market researchers Kantar, and claims to cover 99% of the singles market and 95% of the album market, and aims to collect data from any retailer who sells more than 100 chart items per week. Taka Boom
Taka Boom (born Yvonne Stevens; October 8, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American R&B and dance music singer, and is the younger sister of singer Chaka Khan and Mark Stevens of Aurra. She sang background vocals for several Parliament albums in the 1970s. Taka Boom is sometimes credited as Takka Boom and is known for her work with DJ/producer Dave Lee, especially in a range of hits under the Joey Negro name. DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies were a UK garage collaboration between producer and DJ Pied Piper and the emcees MC DT (responsible for the line "we're loving it, loving it, loving it"), Melody, Sharky P and the Unknown MC (Kamanchi Sly, formerly of the group Hijack). They are best known for their number one hit song "Do You Really Like It?". Musical career The group's debut single "Do You Really Like It?" gained the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart for one week from 27 May to 2 June 2001. It stayed on the chart for a total of 14 weeks during the summer of 2001. The track also appears on several albums of the UK garage compilation series '' Pure Garage''. Jason Chue, better known as Wookie, is a UK garage musician. He scored a UK top 10 hit in 2000 with his song "Battle (song), Battle". Biography Chue's career began in 1991 as a producer for UK R&B/reggae artist Wayne Marshall (singer), Wayne Marshall, producing most of Marshall's debut album ''90 Degrees and Rising'' in 1994. Shortly after, Chue became writer/producer for Soul II Soul at their studio, working with Jazzie B for several years. He would also go on to produce for Dynamite MC and Doom Man. Chue has remixed tracks by Destiny's Child, Public Enemy (group), Public Enemy and Nas, among others. Kathy Brown (born July 12, 1960) is an American dance and house singer from South Carolina. J Majik (born Jamie Spratling, Northwood, England) is a drum and bass DJ and producer. He has been active since his early teens in the early 1990s. Biography He released his first track in 1992 (as DJ Dextrous) on the Planet Earth record label.
