Swimming At The 2009 World Aquatics Championships – Men's 400 Metre Individual Medley
The men's 400 metre individual medley event at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships took place on August 2 at the Foro Italico. The heats were held during the morning session and the final were held during the evening session. This swimming event used medley swimming. Because the swimming pool is 50 metres long, this race consisted of eight lengths of the pool. Murilo Sartori
Murilo Setin Sartori (born 18 May 2002) is a Brazilian swimmer. At the age of 16, participating in the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, he won a silver medal in the Boys' 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay. He also finished 6th at the Boys' 200 metre freestyle. At the age of 17, he won a bronze medal in the 200 metre freestyle at the 2019 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships. He competed in the men's 200 metre freestyle at the 2020 Summer Olympics at age 19. He made a time of 1:47.11, finishing in 24th place overall. Sartori also made it to the Men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay final, finishing in 8th place. He has committed to competing collegiately for the University of Louisville. Gabriel da Silva Santos (born 4 May 1996) is a Brazilian swimmer. He competed in the men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing 5th. Bruno Giuseppe Fratus (born 30 June 1989) is a Brazilian competitive swimmer. He won a bronze medal in the 50-metre freestyle at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In July 2021, Fratus became the first swimmer in history to swim the long course 50 metre freestyle race in less than 22 seconds 90 times.
