Rhône-Alpes Rail Network
Rhône-Alpes () was an regions of France, administrative region of France. Since 1 January 2016, it is part of the new region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It is located on the eastern border of the country, towards the south. The region was named after the river Rhône and the Alps mountain range. Its capital, Lyon, is the second-largest metropolitan area in France after Paris. Rhône-Alpes has the sixth-largest economy of any European region. Geography Rhône-Alpes is located in the southeast of France. Marlieux—Châtillon Station
Marlieux—Châtillon station (French: ''Gare de Marlieux—Châtillon'') is a French railway station located in the commune of Marlieux, Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. As its name suggests the station is located within proximity of, and serves the nearby commune of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne. It is located at kilometric point (KP) 45.760 on the Lyon–Bourg-en-Bresse railway, between the stations of Villars-les-Dombes and Saint-Paul-de-Varax. The station was put into service in 1866 by the Compagnie de la Dombes. As of 2020, the station is owned and operated by the SNCF and served by TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes trains. History The "''station de Marlieux''" was put into service by the Compagnie de la Dombes, on 1 September 1866, along with the opening of railway between Sathonay and Bourg-en-Bresse. Oyonnax Station
Oyonnax station ( French: ''Gare d'Oyonnax'') is a railway station served by TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It serves the town of Oyonnax, and is located in the department of Ain. The station is located on the line between Andelot-en-Montagne and La Cluse. History Approval to construct a station at the current site was given by a ministerial decision date 17 November 1880. Construction took place between 28 March 1883 and 16 May 1885, and the station was opened by the Minister of Public Works on 17 May 1885. Work on the Ligne du Haut-Bugey has caused buses to replace trains between Bourg-en-Bresse and Oyonnax from 2005 to December 2012. Montluel Station
Montluel station (French: ''Gare de Montluel'') is a French railway station located in the commune of Montluel, Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Established at an elevation of 198 meters, the station is located at kilometric point (KP) 25.195 on the Lyon–Geneva railway, between the stations of La Boisse and La Valbonne. As of 2022, the station is owned and operated by the SNCF and served by TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes trains. History The section of railway between Lyon and Ambérieu opened on 23 June 1856. Initially from Lyon-Saint-Clair station, as the bridge across the Rhône was not yet finished, the line traveled along to the river until the Miribel station and extending until Montluel. On 7 January 2011, a 16-year old teenager, Antoine Mauresa, was fatally wounded by a TER train at the station. Miribel station ( French: ''Gare de Miribel'') is a French railway station located in the commune of Miribel, Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
