International Boxing Organization
The International Boxing Organization (IBO) is a US based corporation that sanctions professional boxing matches and awards world and regional championships. It is an independent and well-known organization not recognized by the "big four" governing bodies ( WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO), who only recognize each other in their rankings and title unification rules. It is recognized as a legitimate world championship by the British Boxing Board of Control, the European Boxing Union, BoxRec, and BoxingScene but is unrecognized as such by '' The Ring'' magazine. History The IBO was founded in 1988 and incorporated in Illinois in 1992 by John W. Daddono. The organization was later moved to Florida in 1997 and incorporated in Florida at that time. Drake Thadzi
Drake Thadzi (born November 23, 1964, in Lilongwe) is a Malawian former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 1998, twice challenging for a light heavyweight world title in 1995 and 1998. As am amateur, he competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Amateur career Thadzi represented Malawi at the 1984 Olympics; he was decisioned in the second round of competition in the light heavyweight division (– 81 kg) by Algeria's eventual bronze medalist Mustapha Moussa. Kevin Lerena (born 5 May 1992) is a South African professional boxer who held the IBO cruiserweight title from 2017 to 2021 and challenged for the WBA (Regular) heavyweight title in 2022. Antonio Tarver
Antonio Deon Tarver (born November 21, 1968) is an American former professional boxer and boxing commentator. In boxing he competed from 1997 to 2015, and held multiple light heavyweight world championships, including the WBA (Unified), WBC, IBF and '' Ring'' magazine titles, as well as the IBO light heavyweight and cruiserweight titles. As an amateur, Tarver represented the United States at the 1996 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division; he eventually lost to Vassiliy Jirov from Kazakhstan, whom he had previously defeated at the 1995 World Championships to win gold. Tarver also triumphed at the 1995 Pan American Games and 1995 U.S. National Championships, winning gold in both. Danny Green (boxer)
Daniel Thomas Green (born 9 March 1973) is a former Australian professional boxer. He held the WBA light-heavyweight title from 2007 to 2008, the IBO cruiserweight title twice between 2009 and 2013, and the WBC interim super-middleweight title from 2003 to 2005. Amateur career and the Olympics As a teenager Green had tried martial arts and kickboxing, and had his first amateur boxing bout aged 20. Johnathon Banks
Johnathon Banks is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2014. He held the IBO cruiserweight title from 2008 to 2009 and challenged once for the IBF cruiserweight title in 2009. He currently works as a boxing trainer, most notably for former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, and was himself trained by the late Emanuel Steward.
