Les Ramsay
Leslie Arthur Ramsay (July 1, 1919 – September 1, 1990) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played eleven games in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Black Hawks during the 1944–45 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1936 to 1951, was spent in the minor leagues. Left Wing (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. The 1939 Memorial Cup final was the 21st junior ice hockey championship of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association. The George Richardson Memorial Trophy champions Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey Association in Eastern Canada competed against the Abbott Cup champions Edmonton Athletic Club Roamers of the Edmonton Junior Hockey League in Western Canada.
