Leeds Bradford Airport Parkway Railway Station
Leeds/Bradford Airport Parkway station is a proposed railway station near Horsforth, Leeds, in West Yorkshire. It would have around 300 parking spaces serving Leeds Bradford Airport along with adjoining areas including Cookridge, Bramhope and Yeadon and would be situated on the existing Leeds-Harrogate-York route north of the existing station. The proposal uses both the existing dedicated airport car park bus services (extended to link the station and the airport terminal at very frequent intervals) and the existing main line railway infrastructure with the new station thus enabling frequent direct access to Leeds, Harrogate, Knaresborough and York along with many other rail journeys using interchange at or stations. The scheme is intended to optimise the use and future development of existing infrastructure and services and is thus efficient of taxpayer funds. Horsforth
Horsforth is a town and civil parish within the City of Leeds, in West Yorkshire, England, lying about five miles north-west of Leeds city centre. Historically a village within the West Riding of Yorkshire, it had a population of 18,895 at the 2011 Census. It became part of the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in 1974. In 1999 a civil parish was created for the area, and the parish council voted to rename itself a town council. Northern Trains, branded as Northern, (legally Northern Trains Limited) is a publicly owned train operating company in England. Weeton Railway Station
Weeton railway station serves the villages of Weeton and Huby in North Yorkshire, England. It is located on the Harrogate Line north of Leeds and operated by Northern who provide all passenger train services. History The Leeds and Thirsk Railway was authorised in 1845, and built in stages. The section between and ''Weeton'' opened on 1 September 1848. On 9 July 1849, the final section of the original L&TR main line was formally opened, between Weeton and Leeds. The station at Weeton was described as ''Weeton for Ormscliff Crags'' in some timetables. Facilities The station is unstaffed, but has ticket machines in place to allow intending passengers to buy prior to boarding the train. Horsforth Railway Station
Horsforth railway station is a railway station in West Yorkshire, England. It is on the Harrogate Line north west of Leeds station and the final stop in the West Yorkshire Metro regulated area towards Harrogate. History The station, accessed from Station Road, serves Horsforth, Cookridge and Tinshill, and was opened in 1849. In 1969, staff were removed and all the buildings demolished, as part of the general retrenchment of railways in West Yorkshire at that time. However the goods shed still survives but it is incorporated in the larger DIY store. The nearby North Eastern Railway signal box survived until 2013. Elland Railway Station
Elland railway station served the town of Elland in West Yorkshire, England until 1962. History The station was originally opened on 5 October 1840 by the Manchester and Leeds Railway. It was resited east on 1 August 1865, by which time the line had become part of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway which had taken over the Manchester and Leeds on 9 July 1847. Upon the grouping in 1923, it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway. Elland station closed to passengers on 10 September 1962. Goods facilities were withdrawn on 28 June 1962. White Rose Railway Station
White Rose is a planned railway station between and railway stations on the Huddersfield Line. It was featured in the Government's plans for the railway in November 2017 and in July 2018 further details were revealed as part of the Connecting Leeds Vision with the consultation inviting opinions from the general public. It is anticipated by the developers that Cottingley railway station will close due to the proximity of the two stations.
