Lake Henry is a natural freshwater lake in Highlands County, Florida. Lake Henry has a surface area of . It is just to the north of Lake June in Winter, a much larger lake. On its northeast is Lake Henry Drive. The Tomoka Heights retirement subdivision is to its southeast and to its southwest is Lake June Road, which travels along the north shore of Lake June in Winter. More residential housing is to the south and west. Henry has a park on its shore along Lake Henry Drive. A series of canals run from its south side into residential areas to allow private boat access to the lake. There are no public boat docks or ramps servicing Lake Henry. Lake Henry, a lake that borders on the northeast side of Winter Haven, Florida, has a surface area of . The southwest corner of the lake is inside the Winter Haven City limits. All of the south side of the lake is bordered by mobile home parks and housing developments. A part of the west side is bordered by a mobile home park, as is part of the north side of the lake. The rest of Lake Henry is bordered by wooded areas. The Polk County Water Atlas says Lake Henry is sometimes known as Lake Drane. Lake Henry has no public access on its shores, although there a canal on the south side that connects it to Lake Hamilton. Since Lake Henry is part of the northern chain of the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes, it may be reached by boat from a number of lakes in the chain. Kingsbury County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,187. Its county seat is De Smet. The county was created in 1873, and was organized in 1880. It was named for brothers George W. and T. A. Kingsbury, descendants of the colonial English Kingsbury family in Boston, Massachusetts. They were prominently involved in the affairs of Dakota Territory and served as elected members of several Territorial Legislatures. Lake Henry (Bon Homme County, South Dakota)
Lake Henry is a small artificial lake formed by the construction of a dam across Dawson Creek (South Dakota) in Bon Homme County, South Dakota, United States, about east of the town of Scotland. The lake is within the James River watershed. The lake was named in honor of State Senator Henry Brown of Bon Homme County. The original dam was constructed in 1937. By the late 1980s, however, decades of erosion had degraded the lake and use had declined considerably. Plans to renovate the lake began in 1991 after extensive damage to the spillway was discovered. In 1994, the dam was breached and the lake drained to allow spillway repairs and the removal of accumulated sediments. The renovation project quickly ground to a halt when funding was withdrawn and the lake remained dry for nearly a decade. In 2002, funding for the project was restored.
