Lynk (band)
Lynk, previously known as At Sunset were an Australian pop rock band currently consisting of brothers Harrison, Andrew and Matthew Kantarias. Past members include Jae Curtis and 2008 Australian Idol competitor Tom Jay Williams. The band currently reside in Adelaide, South Australia. They are best known as winners of the Nova (radio network), Nova FM Fresh Discovery and MTV (Australia and New Zealand) Brand New competitions. Music career Formation and early years At Sunset formed in January 2012 in Adelaide, when university friends Harrison Kantarias and Jae Curtis got together and started playing covers at their local pubs. During a rehearsal session, Harrison's brother Andrew joined in which led to the curation of At Sunset. Lynk Air is an American airline that operates scheduled and charter passenger flights in Washington and Oregon. Based in Oak Harbor, Washington, it offers various commuter flights between Seattle–Tacoma International Airport and surrounding regional airports. History Lynk Air was founded in 2018 in Oak Harbor by retired United States Navy pilot Chris Taylor and his wife, Helen, with the goal of shortening the three hour driving commute from Whidbey Island to Seattle to a short 20-minute flight. The Lynk Cup is an annual knockout competition held for football clubs of Jamaica. Established to promote and celebrate the diversity and depth of soccer talent in the country. The competition holds all the soccer teams in the Jamaican Premier League, along with 10 selected teams from the Jamaican Football Federation's Tier 2. Lynk Global is an American company developing a satellite-to-mobile-phone satellite constellation that aims to provide a "cell tower in space" capability for global mobile phone service coverage, including in underserved rural areas without cellular coverage. Beebe Steven Lynk
Beebe Steven Lynk (1872–1948) served as the professor of medical Latin botany and materia medica at the University of West Tennessee. She was an active member of the early black women's club movement, authoring a book, '' Advice to Colored Women'' in 1896. Early life and education Lynk was born in Mason, Tennessee, on October 24, 1872. She was the daughter of Henderson Stevens and Jule Ann (Boyce) Stevens. She earned a degree from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, in 1892 at the age of 20. While it is known that her graduation was in 1892, it is unknown if she attended school early or if the degree she completed was only 2 years long. Although it is unknown when Beebe started her college career, it is known that the degree she obtained was a bachelor's degree from Lane College. Michael Lynk
Stanley Michael Lynk (born 1952) is a Canadian legal academic. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario. From 2016 to 2022 he was the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territories occupied since 1967. Early life and education Michael Lynk was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to parents: Sarah and Stanley Lynk. His maternal grandparents were Lebanese emigrants to Canada. Lynk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University in 1974, followed by a bachelor of laws from the same university in 1981, before completing a master of law at Queen's University. Miles Vandahurst Lynk
Miles Vandahurst Lynk (June 3, 1871 – December 29, 1956) was an American physician and author noted for his efforts to create opportunities for African Americans in science, specifically for medical doctors. He was known both as the founder, editor and publisher of ''Medical and Surgical Observer'' (the first medical journal issued by an African American), as well as founding the University of West Tennessee College of Medicine and Surgery. Personal life Lynk was born near Brownsville, Tennessee. He was named after two bishops, William Henry Miles and Richard H. Vandahurst, of the Christian Methodist Episcopal church in Jackson, Tennessee. Lynk attended Meharry Medical College for two years and graduated in 1891. Later that year, aged 19, he opened his own practice becoming Jackson's first black doctor.
