Luna County (Spanish: ) is a county located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,427. Its county seat is Deming. This county abuts the Mexican border. Luna County comprises the Deming, NM Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Luna County was formed from parts of Grant County and Doña Ana County by the New Mexico Legislature on March 16, 1901. It was named for Solomon Luna, a politician who advocated for independence of the county, following a strong rivalry between the cities of Deming and Silver City, both of which were at the time in Grant County. Before dawn on March 16, 1916, Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa led several hundred of his rebel soldiers across the Mexican border into the village of Columbus in the southern part of the county. Luna Pier, Michigan
Luna Pier is a city in Monroe County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,382 at the 2020 census. Previously known as Lakewood, it was established in the early 1900s and incorporated as a city in 1963. Its most prominent feature is a large crescent-shaped pier made of concrete, approximately long and reaching around out into Lake Erie. The pier is flanked by sandy beaches and man-made rock and concrete embankments. Luna is a census-designated place in northwestern Catron County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 158. It is situated on the San Francisco River and U.S. Route 180, east of the Arizona border and northwest of Reserve, the Catron county seat. Luna Island is a very small uninhabited island in the Niagara River in the U.S. state of New York. Location and features Luna Island is in Niagara Falls, New York between Goat Island and Niagara Falls State Park. It is between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, which are two of the three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls.
