Luis Pérez (footballer, Born 1965)
Luis Hernán Pérez Ramírez (born 17 April 1964) is a Chilean former footballer and current manager. Playing career Pérez had a prolific career as football player in the Chilean football, in addition to a step with Atlético Morelia in Mexico. He retired in 2011 after playing for Deportes Melipilla. At international level, he represented Chile in the 1984 Summer Olympics. At senior level, he earned 6 caps for the Chile national team between 1989 and 1996. Coaching career Pérez has worked as head of technical staff of the Colo-Colo youth system as well as the interim coach of the first team. From 2013 to 2014 he worked as the coach of Deportes La Serena in the Primera B. Personal life He is the cousin of the Chilean former professional footballer , who represented Chile in the 1984 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament. The Copa Texeira (), was a friendly football match realized between Brazil and Chile, in order to seal the peace between the two national teams, after the incident at the Estádio do Maracanã that took place during a match valid for the 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The 1991 Copa Libertadores was won by Colo-Colo of Chile after defeating Olimpia of Paraguay with a 3–0 aggregate score in the finals. The championship would mark a first for a Chilean club team in an international tournament. Twenty-one clubs from all South American countries within Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL) participated. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as Copa Libertadores de América (), is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football.
