Luis Chávez (footballer)
Luis Gerardo Chávez Magallón (born 15 January 1996) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Russian Premier League club Dynamo Moscow and the Mexico national team. Club career Chávez made his professional debut with Tijuana in July 2014. Five years later, he was transferred to Pachuca. Following the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Chávez attracted interest from a number of Mexican clubs, but his determination to play in Europe led him to reject all offers. In July 2023, Russian Premier League club Dynamo Moscow reached an agreement to sign Chávez; however, economic sanctions against Russian entities prevented Pachuca from completing the deal. On 27 August, the transfer was completed after Chávez paid his own release clause. He signed a four-year contract and went on to become the first Mexican player to participate in Russian football.
