"Loving You's a Dirty Job but Somebody's Gotta Do It" is a song recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler and American singer Todd Rundgren. Written and produced by Jim Steinman, the track was released as the lead single from Tyler's sixth studio album, '' Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire'' (1986), in November 1985. The single artwork featured paintings by the British artist Edward Burne-Jones. 12-inch editions feature the cover painting ''The Beguiling of Merlin'', while 7-inch editions feature ''Phyllis and Demophoon''. Some territories feature a photograph of Tyler. Music video The official music video of the song was directed by Tim Pope. Todd Rundgren was unable to appear in the video, and Bonnie Tyler was frustrated that most directors wanted him to feature as a silhouette. Gaynor Sullivan (née Hopkins; born 8 June 1951), known professionally as Bonnie Tyler, is a Welsh singer. Known for her distinctive husky voice, Tyler came to prominence with the release of her 1977 album '' The World Starts Tonight'' and its singles " Lost in France" and " More Than a Lover". William Arthur Moloney (July 10, 1876 in Ottawa, Illinois – March 12, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois) was an American track and field athlete who competed at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Eric Lee Troyer (born 10 April 1949) is an American keyboardist, singer, songwriter, and occasional guitarist. Troyer was a founding member of ELO Part II, having been recruited by band leader Bev Bevan in 1988. Eddie Martinez is an American guitarist, born and raised in New York City and of Puerto Rican ancestry, who mainly performs as a session musician.
