Louis Saint Ange Morel, chevalier de la Colombe (1755–1825) was an aide de camp to Gilbert du Motier, marquis de Lafayette, during the Revolutionary War. When Congress accepted Lafayette's service but not his French companions, he named Colombe as his aide de camp. He returned to France with Lafayette on board the ship ''Alliance''. Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette, Marquis de La Fayette (; 6 September 1757 – 20 May 1834), known in the United States as Lafayette (), was a French military officer and politician who volunteered to join the Continental Army, led by General George Washington, in the American Revolutionary War.
