BMG Rights Management
BMG Rights Management GmbH (also known simply as BMG) is an international music company based in Berlin, Germany. It combines the activities of a music publisher and a record label. BMG was formed in October 2008 after Bertelsmann sold its stake in Sony BMG to Sony. From 2009 to 2013, the investment firm KKR held 51% of the company, which became one of the world's largest music publishers during that time. BMG is 100% owned by Bertelsmann and one of the group's eight business divisions. Ariola
Ariola (also known as Ariola Records, Ariola Express, Ariola-Eurodisc and BMG Ariola) is a German record label. In the late 1980s, it was a subsidiary label of the Bertelsmann Music Group, which in turn has become a part of the international media conglomerate Sony Music Entertainment. Profile Ariola Eurodisc GmbH was founded in 1958 as a music outlet of Bertelsmann. It set up several foreign subsidiaries. Sony Music Entertainment (SME), commonly known as Sony Music, is an American multinational music company owned by Japanese conglomerate Sony Group Corporation. It is the recording division of Sony Music Group, with the other half being the publishing division, Sony Music Publishing. Dag Krister Volle (26 April 1963 – 30 August 1998), better known as Denniz Pop (stylized ''Denniz PoP''), was a Swedish DJ, music producer, and songwriter. He was a member of the DJ collective SweMix and later co-founded the recording studio Cheiron Studios in Stockholm in 1992. Life and career Volle was born on 26 April 1963 in Tullinge, Sweden, to Norwegian immigrants. He began DJing in the 1980s and started producing remixed records and later original releases. In 1986, he co-founded the DJ collective and remix service SweMix with Robert Wåtz (of Rob'n'Raz fame), which also included StoneBridge. In 1988, he released the track "Gimme Some Mo' (Bass on Me)" under his own name. Kristian Lundin (born 7 May 1973) is a Swedish composer, music producer and songwriter. Biography Kristian's worked on the song "Quit Playing Games (with My Heart)" which he co-produced with Max Martin for the Backstreet Boys. He co-wrote & produced "Tearin' Up My Heart" for NSYNC as a follow-up. "Away from Home" is a song recorded by Sweden-based musician and producer Dr Alban, released in May 1994 by Cheiron as the second single from Alban's third studio album, ''Look Who's Talking'' (1994). The song was written by Alban with Kristian Lundin and John Amatiello, and produced by Denniz PoP. In comparison with the previous Dr Alban's singles, the song met a smaller success. But it made it to number two in Finland, number five in Spain, number 12 in Austria, number 13 in Denmark and number 17 in Switzerland. ''Select'' was a United Kingdom music magazine of the 1990s. It was known for covering the indie rock and Britpop genres, but featured a wide array of music. In 2003, ''The Guardian'' called ''Select'' "the magazine that not only coined the word Britpop, but soon came to define it." History The magazine was launched under United Consumer Magazines in July 1990, intending to be a rival to '' Q'' magazine. Its first cover star was Prince. Its first issue sold 100,000 copies.
