''Livin' in a Hoe House'' is the only studio album by American female rap group HWA (group), H.W.A. The album was released in 1990 via Drive-By Records and was produced by Dangerous D and Ronnie Vann. The record was mildly successful, reaching #38 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. No singles made it to the ''Billboard'' charts. The song "Eat This" was later sampled in "Black Widow Pt. 2" as performed by RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard from the album ''Digital Bullet'' (2001). HWA (group)
H.W.A. (an initialism of Hoez With Attitude) is an American all-female hip hop trio, composed of Jazz, Diva and Baby Girl; Diva was later on replaced by Go-Di. They were active between 1989 and 1994, and reformed in April 2012. History The three members came together in 1989, and soon secured an independent label from Drive-By Records to record their first album Livin in a hoe house. The album was not a huge success, only making it to #38 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, but the group became known for its sexually explicit lyrics and they were soon signed to Eazy-E's Ruthless Records. Parliament was an American funk band formed in the late 1960s by George Clinton as part of his Parliament-Funkadelic collective. More commercial and less rock-oriented than its sister act Funkadelic, Parliament drew on science-fiction and outlandish theatrics in their work. Skull Snaps
Skull Snaps was an enigmatic funk group active between 1963 and 1973. The group is known for their mysterious origins and the anonymity of their members, with the identities of their members being unknown for most of their career and long afterward. Until 1970 they were known as The Diplomats, and released a number of singles with some success. Renamed Skull Snaps, they released an eponymous album on the small GSF label in 1973 before suddenly disappearing. Ten12 Records re-united all the original members of Skull Snaps (Erv Littleton Waters, Sam O. Culley, and George Bragg) in 2005 in tandem with the band's first official release, "Snapped"/"I'm Your Pimp", since its 1975 single. The Average White Band (also known as AWB) are a Scottish funk and R&B band that had a series of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980. Joe Quarterman (or Sir Joe Quarterman And Free Soul), also known as Sir Joe Quarterman and sometimes misspelled as Joe Quatermain is an American funk and soul music, soul singer. Quarterman earned the title "Sir" in high school. Todd Anthony Shaw (born April 28, 1966), better known by the stage name Too Short (stylized as Too $hort), is an American rapper and record producer. "Funky Drummer" is a single released by James Brown in 1970. Its drum break, improvised by Clyde Stubblefield, is one of the most frequently sampled music recordings. Recording and composition "Funky Drummer" was recorded on November 20, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio. It takes the form of an extended vamp, with individual instruments (mostly the guitar, tenor saxophones and organ) improvising brief licks on top. Brown's ad-libbed vocals are sporadic and declamatory, and are mostly concerned with encouraging the other band members. The song is played in the key of D minor, though the first verse is in C major.
