Lithuania Men's National Under-18 And Under-19 Basketball Team
The Lithuania men's national under-18 and under-19 basketball team ( Lithuanian: ''Lietuvos nacionalinė vaikinų jaunių iki 18 ir jaunimo iki 19 krepšinio rinktinė''), is the representative for Lithuania in international basketball competitions, and it is organized and run by the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The Lithuania men's national under-18 basketball team represents Lithuania at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket, where they have a chance to qualify for the FIBA U19 World Cup. Lithuanian Basketball Federation
The Lithuanian Basketball Federation (), also known as LKF, is a national governing body of basketball in Lithuania. It was founded in 1936, but due to Occupation of the Baltic states, Soviet occupation, the federation disappeared from FIBA. It was reinstated in 1991, following the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania, Independence of Lithuania. In 2011, the famous basketball player, Arvydas Sabonis, was elected as the commissioner of the federation. The 2008 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship was an international basketball competition held in Greece from July 25, 2008 until August 3. The hosts, Greeks, emerged as the champions after beating the Lithuanians in the final, 57–50 to clinch their first European Under-18 championship. The tournament served as the European Qualifiers for the 2009 FIBA Under-19 World Championship. Participating teams Squads At the start of tournament, all 16 participating countries will have 12 players on their roster.
