Kings Of Saudi Arabia
The king of Saudi Arabia, officially the king of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (; ''Malik al-Mamlakat al-ʿArabiyat as-Suʿūdiyya''), is head of state and of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who holds absolute power. He is the head of the Saudi Arabian royal family, the House of Saud. The king is the commander-in-chief of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces and the head of the Saudi national honors system. King Abdulaziz Public Library (KAPL) () is a public library in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Established in 1985 by Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, it was inaugurated in February 1988 and assumed its current name in 1996. History and profile The library was founded in 1985 by Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The building was designed and constructed by Saudi Oger. The building cost $40,000,000.00 to construct and spans an area of 26,000 m². "The architectural character presents a unique formal statement, and it employs local themes and materials reinterpreted using modern technology." Special collections include the private library of the American Orientalist George Rentz, the library of Hamza Bu Bakr (made up of 17,170 titles in 19,281 volumes) and a collection of over 7,000 rare Arab and Islamic coins. The King Faisal Air Academy () is a military officers' academy and flight school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia founded in 1968. History Founded on 10 January 1968, by Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Defense and Aviation, King Faisal Air Academy was officially opened on 20 May 1970 under the auspices of King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz. The Qassim Province ( ' , Najdi Arabic: ), also known as the Qassim Region, is one of the 13 provinces of Saudi Arabia. Located at the heart of the country near the geographic center of the Arabian Peninsula, it has a population of 1,336,179 and an area of 58,046 km2. King Saud Medical City (KSMC), also known as Shemaisi Hospital, is a large public district general hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1956 and is one of the largest tertiary care centers in Saudi Arabia, with a total bed capacity of 1,500 including 200 ICU beds. The 102-bed emergency department is the busiest in the country, and the hospital serves as the largest referral center in Saudi Arabia for Orthopedic surgery, Trauma surgery and Neurosurgery. It is part of the first health cluster in the city of Riyadh, and currently employs 9,200 healthcare personnel. The College of Medicine in King Saud University was established as the first medical college in the Kingdom in 1967. King Saud University (KSU, ) is a public university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Established in 1957 by King Saud bin Abdulalziz to address the country's skilled worker shortage, it is the first university in Saudi Arabia. It was known as Riyadh University from 1964 until it was reverted to its inceptive name in 1982. It was converted into an independent non-profit academic institution in 2023. The student body of KSU today consists of 40,000 students, 7% of which are international. His Majesty King Saud Mosque () is a Sunni Islam mosque, in the city of Jeddah, in the Al-Sharafeyyah District, in Saudi Arabia. The mosque was designed by Abdel-Wahed El-Wakil and construction was completed in 1987.
