A television station is a set of equipment managed by a business, organisation or other entity such as an amateur television (ATV) operator, that transmits video content and audio content via radio waves directly from a transmitter on the earth's surface to any number of tuned Television sets, receivers simultaneously. South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation
The South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) is a national public service broadcaster in South Sudan. SSBC provides radio stations ( AM/ FM) as well as television broadcasts through its VHF/UHF analogue transmitters in Juba. It broadcasts its radio and television services via satellite and can be viewed from many places in the world through the Badr 4, Intelsat 19 and Galaxy 19 satellites. SSBC's headquarters are in central Juba, where it has its studios, television/FM transmitters, satellite uplink and mast. Télé Tchad is the national broadcaster of the Central African state of Chad. It broadcasts in Arabic and French. It primarily broadcasts news, educational programming, cultural, religious, and local sport programming 20 hours a day. The national broadcaster is seen as favoring the government. Reporters Without Borders frequently lists Chad near the bottom of its list of World Press Freedom rankings, due to "Violence, arbitrary arrest and cyber-censorship for journalists in Chad". Equinox TV
Equinoxe is a Cameroon-based television station. Soon after its launch, it became one of the most vocal critics of Paul Biya's regime. The station was notorious for showing live footage of political demonstration against constitutional change in Cameroon which favoured president Biya's stay in power after 2011 when he is constitutionally barred from running for office again. Cameroon Radio And Television
Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) is a major radio and television broadcasting company in Cameroon. CRTV is a government-controlled radio and television service in Cameroon. It started as Cameroon Television (CTV) and later merged with the radio service to become known as CRTV. It covers all the ten regions of Cameroon, rendering it the indomitable broadcaster amongst a number of private television stations in the country. On 29 June 2016, Charles Ndongo was named new general manager of CRTV by a presidential decree. He replaced Ahmadou Valmouke at a time when the country was on the verge of switching to a digital Television Platform. Uganda Broadcasting Corporation
Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) is the public broadcaster network of Uganda. It was founded as a result of the "Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act, 2004", which merged the operations of Uganda Television (UTV) and Radio Uganda. It started broadcasting on November 16, 2005. The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act stated that the UBC should be funded by the levying of a television licence fee. Collection of a licence fee set at USh  (around €8.40 or US$10.80) started in 2005. However, collection was subsequently halted by President Yoweri Museveni. There has since been pressure to reinstate the licence fee to maintain UBC's independence. UBC operates the UBC TV channel and five radio stations. NTV Uganda
NTV Uganda is a Ugandan television station under the Nation Media Group (NMG), operating in East Africa. It has been on air since 2006. It is one of the companies owned by Aga Khan IV. During the Arua elections, NTV Uganda reporter Herbert Zziwa and cameraman Ronald Muwanga were arrested for allegedly inciting violence. It was also banned from covering aerial footage of National Resistance Movement rallies in the 2016 general elections. In 2020 the media house reached one million followers on Twitter. NBS Television, owned by Kin Kariisa, is a Ugandan television network with its headquarters located at Next Media Park, Plot 13, Summit View Road, Naguru, Kampala District.
