Arnoldstein (, ) is a market town in the district of Villach-Land in the Austrian state of Carinthia. Geography Location Arnoldstein is located at Austria's southern border between the Carnic Alps and the Karawanken mountain range, near the confluence of the Gailitz (Slovene: ''Ziljica'', Italian: ''Slizza'') and the Gail River (Slovene: ''Zilja'', Italian: ''Zeglia''). The tripoint with Tarvisio in Italy and Kranjska Gora in Slovenia is south of the town at the top of the '' Ofen'' (Slovene: ''Peč'', Italian: ''Monte Forno'') at 1,509m/4,951 ft. Dachstein West
Hoher Dachstein () is a strongly karstic mountain in central Austria and the second-highest mountain in the Northern Limestone Alps. It is situated at the border of Upper Austria and Styria, and is the highest point in each of those states. Parts of the massif also lie in the state of Salzburg, leading to the mountain being referred to as the ''Drei-Länder-Berg'' ("three-state mountain"). The Dachstein massif covers an area of around with dozens of peaks above 2,500 m, the highest of which are in the southern and southwestern areas. Petzen (German) or Peca ( Slovene) is the highest mountain of the eastern Karawanks, the second-highest mountain of the Northern Karawanks and the most eastern two-thousand-metre mountain of Slovenia. It is a mighty mountain with a characteristic shape of a tableland with rocky peaks protruding from it. The mountain borders the Meža Valley and the Topla Valley to the south and east, and the Jaun Valley to the north, and is separated by the narrow valley of the Bela Creek from Hochobir.
