Yunyarinyi is an Aboriginal homeland on the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in South Australia. It is located about south of the border with the Northern Territory, south of Alice Springs. Yunyarinyi started as a cattle station called Kenmore Park. It officially became an Indigenous community when the land rights were granted in 1981 by the '' Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights Act 1981''. Raukkan, South Australia
Raukkan is an Australian Aboriginal community situated on the south-eastern shore of Lake Alexandrina in the locality of Narrung, southeast of the centre of South Australia's capital, Adelaide. Raukkan is "regarded as the home and heartland of Ngarrindjeri country." It was originally established as Point McLeay mission in 1859 and became an Aboriginal reserve in 1916. It was finally handed back to the Ngarrindjeri people in 1974, and renamed Raukkan in 1982. Pipalyatjara, South Australia
Pipalyatjara (formerly Mount Davies) is an Aboriginal community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in South Australia, comprising one of the six main communities on "The Lands" (the others being Amata, Pukatja, Kaltjiti, Indulkana, and Mimili). Other smaller communities include Nyapari, Kanpi, Kalka and Yunyarinyi. The residents are mainly Anangu who speak Pitjantjatjara as their first language.The closest community is Kalka to the west. Pipalyatjara Anangu School
Anungu schools is a group of ten schools operated by the Government of South Australia which are located in the west of the Australian state of South Australia. Eight are located in the Aboriginal lands of Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY lands), while one is in Maralinga Tjarutja and on in the community of Yalata, all offering primary and secondary schooling to a local body of students who are largely Aboriginal. The word anangu means "human being", or "person", and is used by several Aboriginal Australian peoples of the Western Desert cultural bloc to describe themselves. Oodnadatta is a small, remote outback town and locality in the Australian state of South Australia, located north-north-west of the state capital of Adelaide city centre, Adelaide by road or direct, at an altitude of . The unsealed Oodnadatta Track, an outback road popular with tourists, runs through the town. Town facilities include a hotel, caravan park, post office, general stores, police station, hospital, fuel and minor mechanical repairs. The old railway station now serves as a museum. From the 1880s to the 1930s, Oodnadatta was a base for camel drivers and their animals, which provided cartage when the railway was under construction and along outback tracks before roads were established. Oak Valley, South Australia
Oak Valley is the only community of Maralinga Tjarutja Aboriginal Council (AC) Local Government Area (LGA), South Australia. The population fluctuates, but a 2016 survey reported around 128 people, mostly Aboriginal. It is approximately NNW of the original Maralinga township, and lies at the southern edge of the Great Victoria Desert. It is named for the desert oaks that populate the vicinity of the community. It was established in 1984 with funds provided as compensation for the dispossession of the Maralinga people from their lands following the British nuclear tests which took place between 1956 and 1963. The risks associated with living in an area contaminated by plutonium, even after the cleanup have been a significant concern. Oak Valley Anangu School
An oak is a hardwood tree or shrub in the genus ''Quercus'' of the beech family. They have spirally arranged leaves, often with lobed edges, and a nut called an acorn, borne within a cup. The genus is widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere; it includes some 500 species, both deciduous and evergreen. Fossil oaks date back to the Middle Eocene. Molecular phylogeny shows that the genus is divided into Old World and New World clades, but many oak species hybridise freely, making the genus's history difficult to resolve. __NOTOC__ Murputja is an Aboriginal community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara in South Australia. In 2007, four South Australia Police officers were based at Murputja and running patrols in the area. There was a rudimentary shed structure that served as a police station when police were present and some new housing had been built for police officers. As of 2018, the APY Lands were served by stations situated at Amata, Ernabella, Mimili, Murputja, Umuwa and the town of Marla. Specialist policing support is located at Umuwa, including CIB and domestic violence investigators. Mimili, South Australia
Mimili is an Australian Aboriginal, Aboriginal community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara, Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in South Australia, comprising one of the six main communities on "The Lands" (the others being Amata, South Australia, Amata, Pukatja, South Australia, Pukatja, Kaltjiti, South Australia, Kaltjiti, Indulkana, South Australia, Indulkana and Pipalyatjara, South Australia, Pipalyatjara). At the 2016 Australian census, Mimili had a population of 243. After European settlement in the 19th century, there was a cattle station on the land, which was named Everard Park.
