Aydın Districts
Aydın ( ''EYE-din''; ; formerly named ''Güzelhisar'', Ancient and Modern Greek: Τράλλεις /''Tralleis''/) is a city in and the seat of Aydın Province in Turkey's Aegean Region, Turkey, Aegean Region. The city is located at the heart of the lower valley of Büyük Menderes River (ancient Maeander River, Meander River) at a commanding position for the region extending from the uplands of the valley down to the seacoast. Its population was 207,554 in 2014. Dalama, Aydın
Dalama is a neighbourhood of the municipality and district of Efeler, Aydın Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,561 (2022). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde''). It is south east of Aydın. The settlement was founded about 200 years ago by Yörüks (nomadik Turkmens) who used to form ''pazar'' (open market) in the vicinity. During Greek occupation following the First World War Dalama participated in the national resistance and the name of the town is pronounced in the popular epic song of Yörük Ali Efe Yörük Ali Efe (1895 – 23 September 1951) was a Turkish guerilla leader in the Ottoman Empire, and an officer in the Turkish Army during the Turkish War of Independence.
