Anne Spencer, Countess of Sunderland (''née'' Digby; c. 164626 April 1715) was the wife of Robert Spencer, 2nd Earl of Sunderland and the daughter of George Digby, 2nd Earl of Bristol and Lady Anne Russell. Anne married Sunderland on 10 June 1665. The groom had previously broken off their long-standing engagement; according to Samuel Pepys he told his friends ''that he had reason enough'' and was ''resolved never to have her''. He soon had second thoughts and their mothers worked together to produce a reconciliation which resulted in an entirely successful marriage. Brian Roy "Spinner" Spencer (September 3, 1949 – June 3, 1988) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played ten seasons in the National Hockey League for the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins. Career Brian Spencer was drafted in the fifth round, 55th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1969 NHL Entry Draft. On December 12, 1970, when Spencer was called up to play with the Leafs in what was his first NHL game on television, he telephoned his father Roy in British Columbia to tell him to watch the game that night on ''Hockey Night in Canada''. Robert F. Spencer (born 5 September 1957) is an Australian rock guitarist. He was a latter day member of Skyhooks (1974–1983) and the Angels (1986–1992). Spencer joined Rose Tattoo in 2017. Charles Bernard Spencer (1909 – 1963) was an English poet, translator, and editor. He was born in Madras, India and educated at Marlborough College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. At Marlborough he knew John Betjeman and Louis MacNeice; at Oxford Stephen Spender, Arthur Calder-Marshall, Isaiah Berlinand he also came across W. H. Auden. He edited ''Oxford Poetry'' in 1930-1931. Barbara Spencer (born Barbara Jay Kirkness, February 14, 1966) is a Canadian curler from Sanford, Manitoba. Spencer is a former Canadian Junior champion and a three-time provincial champion. Career Spencer had a successful junior career, playing third for her sister, Darcy's team. The team won the 1984 Canadian Junior Women's Curling Championship for Manitoba. Two years later, Spencer won the provincial mixed championship, playing third for Hal Tanasichuk. Spencer won her first provincial women's title, playing third for her sister, Darcy. Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer (23 June 1860 – 14 July 1929), commonly referred to as Sir Baldwin Spencer, was a British-Australian evolutionary biologist, anthropologist and ethnologist. He is known for his fieldwork with Aboriginal peoples in Central Australia, contributions to the study of ethnography, and academic collaborations with Frank Gillen. Spencer introduced the study of zoology at the University of Melbourne and held the title of Emeritus Professor until his death in 1929. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1900 and knighted in 1916. Winston Baldwin Spencer (born 8 October 1948) is an Antiguan politician who was the third prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda from 2004 to 2014. Spencer led the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) to victory in the March 2004 parliamentary election.
