Tuskegee, Alabama
Tuskegee () is a city in Macon County, Alabama, United States. It was founded and laid out in 1833 by General Thomas Simpson Woodward, a Creek War veteran under Andrew Jackson, and made the county seat that year. It was incorporated in 1843. It is the largest city in Macon County. At the 2020 census the population was 9,395, down from 9,865 in 2010 and 11,846 in 2000. Tuskegee has been important in African-American history and highly influential in United States history since the 19th century. Before the American Civil War, the area was developed for cotton plantations, dependent on enslaved African-American people. Gilbert Renfroe (born February 18, 1963) is an American former gridiron football quarterback. Early career Renfroe played college football at Tennessee State University from 1982 to 1985. With the Tennessee State Tigers, he finished fourth all-time in total offensive yards and passing yards. After going undrafted and unsigned by the National Football League, he signed in 1986 with the Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League. he was traded to the Toronto Argonauts for the 1987 season, where he split the Argos starting job with fellow rookie John Congemi. James Patrick (born June 7, 1982, in Tuskegee, Alabama) is a professional Canadian football safety who is currently a free-agent. He was most recently a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. He was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2006 and also spent time on the practice squad of the New England Patriots. Chijioke "Chukie" Obinna Nwokorie (born July 10, 1975) is a former American football defensive end. Early years Chukie Nwokorie was adopted as a teenager by John and Patricia Stephenson of Lafayette, Indiana after his birth father departed for Nigeria and his birth mother proved unable to care for him.
