Habshan–Fujairah Oil Pipeline
Habshan–Fujairah oil pipeline, also known as "Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP)", is an oil pipeline in the United Arab Emirates. It starts from the Habshan onshore field in Abu Dhabi and runs to Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. History The pipeline was ordered by the International Petroleum Investment Company in order to increase the security of supply and reduce oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz. The conceptual design of the pipeline was completed in 2006 by Tebodin, and the construction related contracts were awarded in 2007. EPC contract for the project was awarded to China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation and China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau, both subsidiaries of the China National Petroleum Corporation. Construction of the pipeline started on 19 March 2008. It was completed in March 2011. However, its commissioning was postponed several times and it became operational in June 2012. Gwadar–Kashgar Crude Oil Pipeline
The Gwadar–Kashgar Crude Oil Pipeline is a planned initiative intending to build a crude oil pipeline connecting Gwadar, Pakistan to Kashgar, China. The project has approximated an investment of a substantial amount, around $10 billion, for the pipeline's construction. The anticipated transmission capacity of the pipeline is projected to reach up to one million barrels per day. Background The pipeline holds strategic significance by enabling diversification and acceleration of crude oil imports for Beijing. Given Gwadar's proximity to the Persian Gulf, where approximately 40% of the world's crude oil is sourced, this venture is vital. Sources suggest that China currently satisfies 50% of its oil demand by importing from the Middle East The Middle East (term originally coined in English language) is a geopolitical region encompassing the Arabian Peninsula, the Levant, Turkey, Egypt, Iran, and Iraq. The term came into widespread usage by the United Kingdom and western Eur ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline
The Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean oil pipeline (ESPO pipeline or ESPOOP, ) is a pipeline system for exporting Russian crude oil to the Asia-Pacific markets (Japan, China and Korea). The pipeline is built and operated by Russian pipeline company Transneft. History The first discussions of launching the ESPO pipeline started in the 1970s. Later, in 1996, on the initiative of the Russian president, Boris Yeltsin, Russia and China signed an energy agreement including plans for the ESPO pipeline. The original project of this pipeline was proposed by the Russian oil company Yukos in 2001 as an independent oil pipeline. The project involved the building of a pipeline from Angarsk, where Yukos operated a refinery, to Daqing in northern China. At the same time, Transneft proposed an alternative project to pipe oil from Taishet in Irkutsk Oblast to the Far East port Kozmino near Nakhodka. In May 2003, the Russian Government decided to combine these projects and that Transneft woul ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Dornod–Sainshand Oil Pipeline
The Dornod–Sainshand Oil Pipeline is a crude oil pipeline under construction in Mongolia, in collaboration with Chinese, and Russian governments and entities. Beginning in April 2022, with an expected finish date of late 2025, it plans to transport crude oil from the Dornod oil field in eastern Mongolia, to the Sainshand refinery in the southeastern part of the country. This is one of Mongolia's key projects to strengthen its infrastructure, and position in the global economic oil trade. History Mongolia has had a historic dependence on imported oil from neighbouring countries such as Russia. Despite having substantial oil reserves, the lack of infrastructure and refining capacity has forced Mongolia into a position of exporting raw resources, and importing refined products. The construction of the pipeline agreement, which was signed in April of 2022, has been a significant step towards Mongolia's energy independence. The CPC pipeline transfers about 1% of global oil supply and handles almost all of Kazakhstan's oil exports. In 2021, the pipeline exported up to 1.3 million barrels per day (bpd) of Kazakhstan's main crude grade, light sour CPC Blend, which represented 80% of Kazakhstan's total oil production of 1.6 million bpd. The pipeline's largest shareholders include Chevron and Exxon. , the CPC pipeline was the only oil export pipeline in Russian territory not wholly owned by Transneft. History CPC was initially created in 1992 as a development by the Russian, Kazakhstani and Omani governments to build a dedicated pipeli ...
