A multi-sport athlete is an athlete who competes or trains two or more different sports. Most of these athletes played two or more sports from a young age – especially in high school – before deciding to usually concentrate on just one sport professionally. Playing multiple sports appears to improve performance through development of foundational Transferable skill, transferable athletic skills. A large majority of elite young adult athletes, such as NCAA Division I athletes and first-round NFL draft picks, were multi-sport athletes, even if they specialized in a single sport during their professional career, and many played multiple sports even through the end of high school. Most elite athletes who eventually specialized avoided early sports specialization, so they did not specialize or begin intensive training until they were older teenagers. The London Monarchs were a professional American football team in NFL Europe and its predecessor league, the World League of American Football (WLAF). The 1947 Ice Hockey World Championships were the 14th World Championships and 25th European Championship was the first after the Second World War. The Romanian men's national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey of Romania, and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. They are currently ranked 27th in the 2019 IIHF World Rankings and currently compete in Division IA. Andrei Bărbulescu (16 October 1909 – 30 July 1987) was a Romanian football midfielder who played for Romania at the 1938 World Cup. He also played ice hockey, representing the national team at the 1947 Ice Hockey World Championships. Football career Club career Andrei Bărbulescu was born on 16 October 1909 in Slatina, Romania and he started playing football at the junior squads of Venus București in 1924. World Lacrosse Championship
The World Lacrosse Men's Championship is the international men's field lacrosse championship organized by World Lacrosse that occurs every four years. The WLC began before any international lacrosse organization had been formed. It started as a four-team invitational tournament which coincided with Canada's centennial lacrosse celebration in 1967. Canada, the United States, Australia, and England participated. Seven years later, Australia celebrated its lacrosse centenary and another four-team invitational tournament was held between the same countries.
