Opticks
''Opticks: or, A Treatise of the Reflexions, Refractions, Inflexions and Colours of Light'' is a collection of three books by Isaac Newton that was published in English language, English in 1704 (a scholarly Latin translation appeared in 1706). (''Opticks'' was originally published in 1704). The treatise analyzes the fundamental nature of light by means of the refraction of light with prisms and lenses, the diffraction of light by closely spaced sheets of glass, and the behaviour of color mixtures with spectral lights or pigment powders. ''Opticks'' was Newton's second major work on physical science and it is considered one of the three major works on optics during the Scientific Revolution (alongside Johannes Kepler's ''Astronomiae Pars Optica'' and Christiaan Huygens' ''Treatise on Light''). Overview The publication of ''Opticks'' represented a major contribution to science, different from but in some ways rivalling the ''Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, Principia ... Emmy Noether Bibliography
Emmy Noether was a German mathematician. This article lists the publications upon which her reputation is built (in part). First epoch (1908–1919) Second epoch (1920–1926) In the second epoch, Noether turned her attention to the theory of rings. With her paper ''Moduln in nichtkommutativen Bereichen, insbesondere aus Differential- und Differenzenausdrücken'', Hermann Weyl states, "It is here for the first time that the Emmy Noether appears whom we all know, and who changed the face of algebra by her work." Third epoch (1927–1935) In the third epoch, Emmy Noether focused on non-commutative algebras, and unified much earlier work on the representation theory of groups. List Of Scientific Publications By John Von Neumann
John von Neumann (1903–1957) was a Hungarian-American mathematician, physicist, computer scientist, engineer and polymath. He had perhaps the widest coverage of any mathematician of his time, integrating pure and applied sciences and making major contributions to many fields, including mathematics, physics, economics, computing, and statistics. He was a pioneer of the application of operator theory to quantum mechanics in the development of functional analysis, the development of game theory and the concepts of cellular automata, the universal constructor and the digital computer. His analysis of the structure of self-replication preceded the discovery of the structure of DNA. Books authored / coauthored * 1932. Physics
Physics is the scientific study of matter, its Elementary particle, fundamental constituents, its motion and behavior through space and time, and the related entities of energy and force. "Physical science is that department of knowledge which relates to the order of nature, or, in other words, to the regular succession of events." It is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines. "Physics is one of the most fundamental of the sciences. Scientists of all disciplines use the ideas of physics, including chemists who study the structure of molecules, paleontologists who try to reconstruct how dinosaurs walked, and climatologists who study how human activities affect the atmosphere and oceans. Physics is also the foundation of all engineering and technology. No engineer could design a flat-screen TV, an interplanetary spacecraft, or even a better mousetrap without first understanding the basic laws of physics. (...) List Of Scientific Publications By Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein (1879–1955) was a renowned theoretical physics, theoretical physicist of the 20th century, best known for his Special relativity, special and General relativity, general theories of relativity. He also made important contributions to statistical mechanics, especially by his treatment of Brownian motion, his Einstein model, resolution of the Equipartition theorem#History, paradox of specific heat capacity, specific heats, and Einstein relation (kinetic theory), his connection of fluctuation dissipation theorem, fluctuations and dissipation. Despite his reservations about its interpretation, Einstein also made seminal contributions to quantum mechanics and, indirectly, quantum field theory, primarily through his theoretical studies of the photon. Einstein's writings, including his scientific publications, have been digitized and released on the Internet with English translations by a consortium of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Princeton University Press, and ... Bibliography Of Max Born
Max Born was a widely influential German physicist and mathematician who was awarded the 1954 Nobel Prize in Physics for his pivotal role in the development of quantum mechanics. Born won the prize primarily for his contributions to the statistical interpretation of the wave function, though he is known for his work in several areas of quantum mechanics as well as solid-state physics, optics, and special relativity. Born's entry in the ''Biographical Memoirs of Fellows of the Royal Society'' included thirty books and 330 papers. Books Born wrote several textbooks and popular science books throughout his career, including '' Dynamical Theory of Crystal Lattices'' and '' Principles of Optics''.
