Luisa Teresa Pacheco
Luisa Teresa Pacheco de Chacón (died 10 August 2023) was a Venezuelan politician. She was the first female governor of Táchira state, appointed by President Jaime Lusinchi. Among the events that took place during her administration was the formal inauguration of the Táchira Museum on 14 December 1984. Luisa Teresa has also worked as a teacher. The history of Venezuela reflects events in areas of the Americas colonized by Spain starting 1502; amid resistance from indigenous peoples, led by Native caciques, such as Guaicaipuro and Tamanaco. However, in the Andean region of western Venezuela, complex Andean civilization of the Timoto-Cuica people flourished before European contact. After the first contacts between Europeans, specifically Portuguese and Spanish conquerors, there were no significant events between 1515 and 1528. The biggest event that happened after 1528 was the German Colonization of Venezuela. This event occurred because of a business between Charles V and the banking family of the Augsburg. Charles V, gave the family of the Augsburg most of the territory of the Province of Venezuela, which after the concession was called by the Germans "Klein-Venedig" which means "Little Venice". The politics of Venezuela are conducted under what is nominally a federal presidential republic, but is in practice an authoritarian system of government. Governors in Venezuela are in charge of the government and administration of each state. A governor must be a Venezuelan over the age of 25 who is not a member of the clergy. The governor can be elected for a term of four years by a majority vote. The governor can be re-elected to an additional term only immediately and only once. Governors give a yearly public accounting to the State Comptroller for their office, and submit a report on the same to the Legislative Council and the Public Policy Planning and Coordination Council. Freddy Alirio Bernal Rosales is a Venezuelan politician. He served as mayor of the Libertador Municipality in Caracas and is a member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
