In association football, a football club (or association football club, alternatively soccer club) is a sports club that acts as an entity through which association football teams organise their sporting activities. The club can exist either as an independent unit or as part of a larger sports organization as a subsidiary of the parent club or organization. The sport of association football allows teams that partake in some sort of club activity to participate in tournaments such as leagues and other competitions. Five-a-side Football
Five-a-side football is a version of minifootball, in which each team fields five players (four outfield players and a goalkeeper). Other differences from association football include a smaller pitch, smaller goals, and a reduced game duration. Matches are played indoors, or outdoors on artificial grass pitches that may be enclosed within a barrier or "cage" to prevent the ball from leaving the playing area and keep the game constantly flowing. Five-a-side football is an informal, small-sided game with flexible rules, often determined before play begins. The penalty area is semi-circular and only the goalkeeper can touch the ball within it. There are no offside rules, headers are allowed, and yellow and red cards work similarly to traditional 11-a-side football. Players must wear shin guards and are prohibited from wearing metal studded boots. The Yishun Sentek Mariners is a semi-professional football club based in Yishun, Singapore, that plays in the Singapore Football League (SFL) Division 1. Founded in 1975, the club have won the Singapore FA Cup, Singapore National Football League 1 and 2 titles once each. The club is promoted to the NFL Division One after winning NFL Division Two in 2014. They are the only winners of NFL Challenge Cup after winning two consecutive finals in 2018 and 2019. Singapore Cricket Club
The Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) is one of the premier sports and social clubs in Singapore. Its clubhouse is located on Connaught Drive on the south end of the Padang in Singapore's central business district. History The SCC was established in 1852. Over the years, the club has had three clubhouse buildings on the Padang. The first was erected in the 1860s and the second in 1877. The third, which forms the core of the present-day clubhouse, was built in 1884. As the second oldest club in Singapore, the SCC today has over 3,000 members.
